Paleolithic diets are touted as ideal. That is not the case. The paleolithic diet was borne of necessity and desperation. The ideal diets are the ones before the ice age: raw and fruitarian. No one does that today. The last pockets of indigenous people are dying out and all have been replaced by the religious, militant, desert producing cultures. Man's original diet is not practical for mostly all people, even if they tried. So we try to compensate and heal from the symptoms attributed to our slave diets...
My problem with this show is that they don't acknowledge the futility. It's mostly hype and promo. They have a lot of interesting biology, but also nonsense chemistry. Rfk (Go Bobby) has top billing but appears very little in the beginning. I should be kinder to the effort, but the self-promoting was a real turnoff. I am a microbe therapy research librarian. I should be kinder to the effort, but they really don't have a clue for the most important truths...
This was a very long show, at 86 minutes, it seemed like hours. I had to force myself to finish it (only because rfk seemed to certify it) but because it exemplifies the worst perceptions of new age nonsense. And i don't mean to debase new age theories, some of them are painfully true. Basically this show loses credibility because of the presentation, even when they are right about something. Some of these contentions seem like gobbledygook because their explanations are not reproducible either by lab or known universal microbiochemistry...
You can watch this Honey, but take it with a grain of NaCl...
