El Círculo

I have always tried to support Latin American cinema, there is a lot of potential in general, but this miniseries has nothing in it. The only performance that I found credible was the woman in the last episode.

From beginning to end it feels like a dramatic and simple play, like a students project. They focused on giving it a mysterious and dark sense, missing out on delivering the message.

In the end, I wondered... what was the point of all this? Is there some hidden message that I didn't understand? It all seemed more like the actors' resume... like in a casting. Oh, well, another missing opportunity.

Love this show. It has such a dark and mysterious tone that is embraced by the rich visuals. The episodes are unique with some moving stories that are well told but also build up to a larger overarching story.

The acting is amazing. So many great actors in here that are given a range of emotions to play with. The cast of characters are interesting and they all bring something to the story.

The sound effects really sell the tone and build up the emotion so you go on the journey with the characters.

And last but not least, the direction is superb. The director has managed to keep things visually interesting while also being contained.

Overall I love it, and have been looking forward to new episodes at they are released.
