It’s a beautifully rare thing when a movie franchise can manage to continue with one fantastic entry after another and never put a foot wrong. It’s sadly far too common for a film series to start off great and then decline in quality over the years as audiences are subjected to new installments in a franchise that should have called it quits long ago. That’s why it's important to lavish praise upon series that have done things right and kept viewers continually excited for each new top-quality release.
Many of the greatest movie franchises of all time are still ongoing and have managed to maintain their appeal over the years. From classic horror releases that have stayed relevant for decades to once-dormant franchises that have triumphantly returned, it’s a truly impressive achievement on the part of actors, directors, and writers that all these series have yet...

Warning! This article contains spoilers for Sonic the Hedgehog 3!Jim Carrey's performance in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is a high point in a long career of great performances, and this has been the case throughout the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Each of the movies sees him playing the character of Doctor Ivo Robotnik, also known as Doctor Eggman, as he attempts to thwart Sonic and friends and take over the world. There are also a fair number of Easter eggs in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, something that the character of Robotnik often leans into.
On the whole, Carrey's acting performance as the franchise's main villain is punctuated by an endless energy and physical comedy that works well for the character. Carrey has a certain over-the-top style he brings to his roles, and this lends itself perfectly to Doctor Robotnik. Now that a fourth Sonic the Hedgehog movie has been confirmed,...

As a Trainer moves along in their journey, there will be a greater need to find especially powerful Pokmon in order to advance through tougher battles and Gyms. For Ash Ketchum of the original Pokmon anime, the Trainer takes on a different approach to seeking out formidable allies rather than searching for specific types. Throughout his journey, Ash will use the Pokmon that he happens to catch or befriend along the way, despite their statistics in the games and the competitive scene of Pokmon battling.
Ash proves to be very fortunate with the Pokmon he meets on his journey, as all of them prove to be excellent fighters in time. However, some of his Pokmon are not given a proper spotlight compared to some of their allies. Had they been used more, Ash perhaps would have had a much easier time during some of the tougher fights of his adventure.

Chuck Woolery, the charismatic game show host who kicked off the long run of Wheel of Fortune before spending 11 years playing matchmaker on Love Connection, has died. He was 83.
His friend and podcast co-host Mark Young told TMZ that Woolery died Saturday at his home in Texas, and he posted about it on X. No other details were immediately available.
Woolery started out in show business as a singer in the orchestral pop band The Avant-Garde, whose most famous song, “Naturally Stoned,” made it to No. 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1968. The tune later served as the theme song for his (very) short-lived Game Show Network reality series in 2003.

The sequence, titled "Super Sonic Transformation," showcases uniquely fluid animation coupled with intense lighting effects that invoke a distinct shonen anime vibe. Disney, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network are responsible for many popular animated shows that appeal to young demographics. Shows like Phineas and Ferb, Spongebob Squarepants, and Adventure Time had a significant impact and became spectacular hits for younger audiences.
However, there are a good number of acclaimed animated shows from these networks that don't receive the same recognition. These shows either had serious competition or viewers weren't ready for something new. These animated shows are criminally underrated, from movie-based series like Tron: Uprising to brilliantly written cartoons like The Looney Tunes Show.

If Sonic Frontiers ends up coming out with Dlc, it may have already foreshadowed who could be involved. Frontiers brings up a fair amount of Sonic characters in idle chatter, either through cutscenes or comments from Sonic. Although none of them are plot-relevant, they could be setting up future returns or game debuts for a few unexpected names.
Sonic Frontiers was one of the more innovative recent releases for the series, but in a way it was also something of a back-to-basics game as well. While Sonic's cast of friends and enemies has steadily been growing, this game primarily focused on the core cast of Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Eggman, although Big runs a fishing game in Sonic Frontiers. There were only two meaningful newcomers in Sage and The End, and both of their roles were important. This worked to the game's strength, giving it one of the best stories in the series.

While Sonic Frontiers is not technically an RPG, it features a Skill Tree for granting players new abilities to dish out devasting damage on their foes or perform flashy stunts and maneuvers. While most of these unlockable Skills do not affect one's ability to progress or complete the game, they significantly enhance one's gameplay experience by adding either variety in Sonic's moveset or substantial upgrades to his core attacks. Such characteristics beg the question concerning which Skills players should unlock first. The answer to this query will undoubtedly depend on individual preference, as there are many ways to dispatch enemies in Sonic Frontiers. Nevertheless, there are specific Skills that offer objectively higher benefits early on.
The first Skill players will unlock during their playthrough of Sonic Frontiers is the Cyloop, which enables Sonic to leave a trail of light when running. This trail can be used to produce resources or...

Anytime a new Sonic the Hedgehog project gets announced, fans clamor to discuss what it should be influenced by. The classic Genesis games for their iconic look? The Dreamcast Sonic Adventure series for the story? Sonic’s various appearances in animation also get brought up, whether it is the wacky slapstick of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, the cult classic Sonic the Hedgehog (aka SatAM), the Sonic X anime, and more.
One series that the cast of the Sonic live-action movies wants to draw from more than any other though is Sonic Boom. Airing from 2014 to 2017 on Cartoon Network and Boomerang, the series stood apart from other entries in the Sonic franchise by functioning as a send-up of action-adventure stories with tons of fourth wall breaking jokes.

For the most devoted fans of “Sonic the Hedgehog,” the new blockbuster film coming this weekend will have the bonus of seeing — or rather hearing — Colleen O’Shaughnessey make her big-screen debut as Miles “Tails” Prower after playing the flying fox for eight years.
“It’s just unbelievable and joyous and beautiful and amazing,” O’Shaughnessey told TheWrap. “All the excitement and love I’ve received from the fans has been so gratifying, with all these tweets telling me they were hoping that I would get to play Tails in this film. They’ve had my back and have been so supportive since the beginning.”
O’Shaughnessey joined the “Sonic” series in 2010 playing the hyperactive bee Charmy, but took over playing Tails in 2014 with the release of the spinoff video game and animated series “Sonic Boom.” Since then, she’s played the iconic Sega character in seven “Sonic” games, and in...

It's been a few years since the most recent animated series based on Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog concluded with 2017's Sonic Boom. This was more of a comedic take on the Sonic characters than fans had been exposed to previously. Now, Netflix has officially revealed Sonic Prime, a brand new 24-episode 3D CG series being developed by Wildbrain Vancouver, and it sounds a lot more serious.

Sonic Prime is supposed to be about taking Sonic into new worlds and dimensions, similar to what happened in the Sonic The Hedgehog movie or Sonic Forces videogame. As such, there are many characters who could potentially appear across all areas of fandom, as Sonic has met many colorful personalities that just need to be included in Sonic Prime.

Sonic the Hedgehog is getting a new series, Sonic Prime, set to debut on Netflix in 2022! It’s very exciting news for fans of Sega’s most popular character but buried in the press release is a detail that might make this the most way past cool Sonic series of all time. From the press release synopsis of the story,
“The 24-episode animated adventure for kids, families, and long-time fans draws upon the keystones of the brand and features the “Blue Blur” of video game fame in a high-octane adventure where the fate of a strange new multiverse rests in his gloved hands. Sonic’s adventure is about more than a race to save the universe, it’s a journey of self-discovery and redemption.“

A new Sonic the Hedgehog TV series is apparently on its way to Netflix. Sega’s superstar rodent is enjoying a major resurgence in popularity right now thanks to the success of Paramount’s live-action movie, starring Ben Schwartz as the voice of the hedgehog and James Marsden as his human pal, which arrived earlier this year. And along with a sequel being in the works, Sonic is about to feature in his own CG-animated series, too. Though we’re not sure we’re meant to know that just yet.
This morning, official Netflix account @NXOnNetflix shared the news and here’s how their announcement read: “Rings? Check. Sneakers? Check. Speed? Sonic. Sega’s legendary video game icon Sonic the Hedgehog races onto Netflix in a new 3D animated series from @Sega, @WildBrainHQ and @ManOfActionEnt premiering in 2022.”

Rob Liefeld, a comic book artist best known for creating the character of Deadpool, doesn’t understand why the Merc with a Mouth hasn’t gotten his own cartoon yet. He has a point, too, considering that Deadpool is one of the most original, entertaining and beloved heroes ever invented. Thanks to the movies starring Ryan Reynolds, he’s also more popular than he ever was before. Not to mention that Wade Wilson has proven to do well in other forms of media, too.
In 2013, Activision published a video game based on the character and his mythos on the previous generation of consoles. Hailed by many as the penultimate representation of Deadpool – superior even to Reynolds’ own performance – it set a standard for meta, self-referential storytelling that not only inspired the films, but also provides a template for a potential cartoon.
Self-aware cartoons are in higher demand than they ever were before.

Writing songs about polarizing issues can be a fool’s errand. Writers run the risk of coming across as pretentious or, even worse, trite. But that didn’t stop Los Angeles band Dustbowl Revival from addressing some weighty topics on their new album Is It You, Is It Me, out this Friday. The Americana group sings about the blight of mass shootings in the U.S.; the inherent manipulation of social media; and the disconcerting idea that those within our own families or friend circles may have helped vote Trump into office.

Even though he originally debuted as the world’s fastest hedgehog on the Sega Genesis, Sonic has since made his mark outside of video games. Following his 1991 self-titled outing, the blue blur ventured into comic books, animation and he’s set to make his Hollywood debut in just a few months’ time.

“We were out having dinner and Pete [Kember, Sonic Boom] mentioned an idea for a video where the viewer is always looking up from the ground,” the duo said in a statement.

Sega's concentrating on PC and mobile games, but Sonic Team's boss suggests that Sonic's days on consoles aren't over yet...
Neither Sega nor its hyperactive mascot have had an easy time over the past few months. The once might company announced a fairly drastic restructure in January, which will see its base of operations move and a considerable percentage of its staff in the Us reduced.
Sonic the Hedgehog, meanwhile, suffered a damaging blow with Sonic Boom - an outing greeted by dismal reviews and slow sales. With Sega announcing its intention to step away from console development and concentrate on mobile and PC games, the news didn't seem good for the blue blur.
The release of free-to-play infinite runner Sonic Runners, out now in Japan for mobiles - seemed to underline the thinking that Sonic's console days may be behind him.

Sega has pulled out all the stops for the new entries in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Not only are there two new games for the Wii U and Nintendo 3Ds, Sonic fans have been treated to a new animated cartoon on Cartoon Network and a new title from Archie Comics, for a total of four if you count the magazine-sized Sonic Super Special. Not bad for a game series that over two decades long.
So you can’t expect me to review just one of them, can you?
Both the video games feature a new villain, Lyric, a serpentine scientist from the dawn of time, the last of a race known as the Ancients, which if you think about it, is an odd thing to name yourselves since you’re not ancient when you name yourselves.
