Despite extremely poor box office returns, Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s latest superhero movie has become a major hit on streaming. Taylor-Johnson stars alongside Russell Crowe and Christopher Abbott in Kraven the Hunter, the 2024 Sony Marvel film that debuted in December and grossed only $61 million at the global box office against a $110 million budget, making it one of the biggest flops of the year. However, the film recently premiered on Netflix more than two weeks ago, and not only did it quickly become one of the more popular movies on the platform, but it has weathered the storm of new arrivals to hold down its spot. Kraven the Hunter earned a “rotten” 15% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and general audiences reviewed the film at 73%.
Richard Wenk, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway all contributed to the script for Kraven the Hunter, and J.C. Chandor directed the film. Chandor made his directorial debut 15 years ago on Margin Call,...

The Blade reboot could be led by the director of another franchise with a badass lead character as the ill-fated Marvel Cinematic Universe looks to get back on track. Reports claim John Wick franchise helmer Chad Stahelski is the latest filmmaker to take the reins of the long-gestating blockbuster.
According to Hollywood scooper Jeff Sneider, Marvel has enlisted Stahelski to become the Blade reboot's third director since its 2019 announcement. Michael Green and Eric Pearson penned the latest draft of the film, with Stahelski tapped to direct as he's set to helm the Henry Cavill-led Highlander reboot and potentially John Wick 5 at Lionsgate.
Stahelski was reportedly chosen after Marvel passed on another director to lead Blade 4. Cary Fukunaga, who directed the most recent James Bond entry, No Time to Die, was reportedly in line for the job late last year. However, Sneider claims Fukunaga's reputation may have cost him the job.

The fact that there was going to be a Blade reboot as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring Mashershala Ali in the title role, came as a huge surprise when the announcement was made at the San Diego Comic-Con back in July of 2019… but we’re coming up on the six year anniversary of that announcement, and we still haven’t seen a new Blade movie. The closest we’ve gotten is Ali making a vocal cameo as the character at the end of Eternals back in 2021. Now, industry scooper Jeff Sneider of The InSneider has given us a bit of an update on the project, which we haven’t heard much about in the last year. During its time in development hell, Blade has gained and lost two directors: Bassam Tariq was the first and Yann Demange the second. Sneider reveals that the project has also passed through...

If you're a Blade fan, it's fair to say the past six-or-so years haven't been the easiest. Mahershala Ali was announced as the McU's Daywalker at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, only for the pandemic to come along the following year and delay Marvel Studios' plans for the movie.
Since then, the Blade reboot has lost a seemingly endless list of writers and directors. The movie has been undated for a while now, making claims that it's on "indefinite hold" not in the least bit surprising.
There were rumblings last month that John Wick franchise director Chad Stahelski could be in line to helm the reboot. The latest draft was written by Michael Green and Eric Pearson, and according to The InSneider, he's emerged as a frontrunner to finally bring Blade back to theaters.

Tom Hardy, the iconic actor who recently starred in Venom: The Last Dance, may seem to be done with the Marvel franchise in the short run, but he isn't quite finished experimenting. Hardy will make his comic debut with Arcbound, a new sci-fi series published by Dark Horse and created by New York Times best-selling author Scott Snyder (Absolute Batman) and comics veteran Frank Tieri (New Excalibur).
Arcbound is a 12-issue series with contributions by Tom Hardy, Ryan Ottley, Clay Mann, Tyler Kirkham, Rose Besch, and Dan Panosian, and will be released on November 13, 2024. While Ryan Smallman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) is responsible for the comic's art, Franky William and Buddy Beaudoin will serve as Colorist and Letterer, respectively.
Dark Horse's official synopsis for Arcbound reads as follows:
In a future where Earth has become a barren wasteland, Zynitec harnesses the unmatched energy of Kronium to assert its dominion across the stars.

Throughout his career, Tom Hardy has been known as an actor with great versatility, jumping from role to role and genre to genre with ease and effectiveness. He's known for big roles like Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, Eddie Brock in Venom or Max Rockatansky in Mad Max: Fury Road. Most will remember these hits or even his early roles in films like Bronson and Inception, but it's all the ones in between his commercial titles that are actually his greatest films.
Proving to be one of the most unique performers of the last decade, Tom Hardy is an actor whose talents have been both highly regarded and yet at times overlooked by the scale and popularity of some of his films. The Academy is not going to give Tom Hardy an Oscar for playing roles like Bane or Venom, even if his performances make those films better. However,...

Safe House's Daniel Espinosa looks like he'll be directing Jo Nesbo's Blood On Snow, starring Leonardo DiCaprio
If David Fincher's Us remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was supposed to open the floodgates to a host of Scandanavian thrillers making it to cinemas, it doesn't seem to have really happened yet. Certainly not from Hollywood anyway.
But here's one that does seem to be on its way. Jo Nesbo's book Blood On Snow was picked up by Warner Bros recently, and the movie has been nurtured with Leonardo DiCaprio in mind. He's being lined up to star as a hitman who has to go into hiding when a job doesn't go to plan. When first we heard about Leonardo DiCaprio becoming attached to the adaptation of Norwegian crime writer Jo Nesbo’s pseudonymously penned book series Blood On Snow, we pictured the title quickly settling on to the long list of films DiCaprio is developing. Warner Bros. is hoping to juice the process up, however, with Safe House director Daniel Espinosa entering talks to make the film.Nesbo’s set of two pulp-throwback books, written under the name Tom Johansen, focus on a hit man tasked by his boss with killing the employer’s wife. But he goes and falls in love with the woman, which throws a right old spanner in the works and ends up with the couple going on the run. Publishing house Knopf will bring them to shelves this autumn and next spring in a staggered release. The next step, assuming Espinosa makes a deal, will be to find...

Daniel Espinosa is kind of a big deal these days, but I’m not exactly sure why. He first put himself on the map with the enjoyable Swedish flick Easy Money, starring Joel Kinnaman, but followed that up with the horrible Safe House, starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds. Despite the fact that the film was mostly panned by critics, it did turn a healthy profit at the box office for Warner Bros., so naturally, the studio wants to hop back into bed with the red-hot director once more.

Well, DiCaprio is still deciding whether or to star in the thing, but has lined up a pretty great director to take it on.
