Stormskerry Maja, a sweeping period drama about a woman’s struggle for survival on a remote 19th-century island, was the big winner at the 2025 Jussi Film Awards, Finland’s equivalent to the Oscars, taking home six awards, including best film and best director for Tiina Lymi. The film’s star Amanda Jansson also took Jussi for best lead performance.

The Jussis were handed out at a gala ceremony in Helsinki on Friday.

Other top winners included Apple Thieves, Missile, My Name Is Dingo, and Once Upon a Time in a Forest, each earning two awards. Notably, this year introduced two new acting categories: ensemble of the year and breakthrough role of the year, reflecting the evolving recognition of performances in Finnish cinema. Additionally, the inaugural visual effects of the year award was presented, marking a milestone for technical achievements in the industry.

New set photos from Daredevil: Born Again season 2 show Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock getting a fresh look. The Marvel hero will finally wear his famous black suit in the upcoming season.

The series is set to premiere in 2026, but filming is already underway. Recent pictures from the set (via @petergcornell) show Daredevil in his black costume, emerging from the water. This is an exciting update for fans of the character.

Now Daredevil is most associated with red color but he did have not one but three black suits in the comics. His first makeshift suit was black of course, but that can be hardly called a superhero costume. As She-Hulk: Attorney at Law made clear, there are multiple ways to portray Daredevil on screen. The character is at his best with a darker tone, of course, but some of his best adventures have even embraced the supernatural.

In this feature, we're singling out five storylines we'd love to see in Daredevil: Born Again season 3. These are all quite a bit different from the vigilante's battle with the Kingpin and would allow Marvel Studios to do something completely different with this corner of the MCU.

New photos from the set of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 may hint at an upgraded superhero suit for Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock. In the images, the actor is pictured wearing what appears to be an all-black outfit, though it is largely concealed by a cloak to save the full reveal for the Disney+ series. The devil is in the details and nobody knows that better than Marvel fans, who immediately started speculating about what the costume change might reveal about where the story is heading in its sophomore outing.

The photos were met with excitement when they surfaced on X/Twitter. An account by the name of "Daredevil Shots" posted a side-by-side comparison (shared below) of the suit that Daredevil dons in Season 1 and a newer snap of Cox on the set of Season 2. While it's only been featured in the premiere so far, Daredevil: Born Again has given the Man Without Fear a new suit. Far more in line with what the hero wears in the comics, there's a lot more red than the Netflix version...but still no sign of the "Dd" logo. 

Charlie Cox has now been spotted on the set of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 and the boots alone confirm he's back in costume. However, eagle-eyed fans have pointed out that the neck area is now entirely black, a sign perhaps that the vigilante will be getting a fully black costume.

There's precedent for this in the comics, whether it's Matt Murdock's armoured look or his short-lived Shadowland costume.

Fans don't have to wait for Daredevil: Born Again to see the Man Without Fear, as he is set to appear in the latest episode of the hit Disney+ series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil, is swinging into action in Episode 6 of Spidey's new animated series, set to air this Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Created by Stan Lee and Bill Everett, Daredevil and his lawyer alter ego Matt Murdock have been a fixture of the Marvel Universe since he debuted in Daredevil #1 in April 1964. His status as a crime fighter in New York City's Hell's Kitchen means he has regularly crossed paths with Spider-Man, which is a team-up fans are hoping to see play out in live action in the upcoming Spider-Man 4 – especially after Charlie Cox reprised his role as Matt Murdock and served as Peter Parker's lawyer in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

I’m still not over Blue Bloods’ cancelation.

I haven’t deleted the series finale from my DVR and have watched bits and pieces of it over again, and can safely say it was one of the best episodes in a season full of them.

While a few episodes had a sillier premise than I would like (I’m rarely a fan of Danny partnering up with a random guest star who annoys the hell out of him), every episode offered solid stories and the family values that made Blue Bloods such a wonderful series.

Even the worst episode of Blue Bloods Season 14 was some of the best that television has to offer.

If documentaries from across the plethora of streaming platforms have taught us anything, it's that people get lured into cults much more easily than you expect. But it's not often that these kinds of stories get the twisty, arthouse and cinematic treatment that Shadowland displays. The documentary centers around the controversial Richard Stanley, and Collider can bring you an exclusive look at the new trailer for the feature that is making waves at film festivals. With an impressive perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has yet to set a theatrical release date.

Oscar-nominated producer Adam Somner, who was among the most in-demand first assistant directors in the business during the past few decades, died November 27 from anaplastic thyroid cancer. He was 57.

Somner was the go-to Ad for the likes of Steven Spielberg (12 films), Paul Thomas Anderson (six) and Ridley Scott (six). He also worked multiple times with Scott’s brother Tony, Alejandro G. Iñárritu and James Mangold. His most recent films include Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, Steve McQueen’s Blitz and Anderson’s upcoming untitled Warner Bros. film starring Leonardo Di Caprio.

Daredevil: Born Again is one of the most anticipated upcoming releases in the MCU. Set to premiere on Disney+ in March 2025, the show promises to fully integrate Daredevil into the MCU, along with a host of characters from his Netflix series.

With this new installment comes a fresh suit. As you may know, Daredevil has sported several costumes in live action, evolving from his homemade black suit to a professionally crafted red armored suit over the course of three seasons.

In She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, fans were treated to Daredevil’s Yellow and Red Suit, which presented a less gritty appearance that matched the show’s lighter, more comedic tone. The yellow helmet and accents paid tribute to the retro, comic-accurate design of his classic debut costume from the 1960s.

However, it appears that Born Again is returning to a grittier aesthetic, as set leaks have revealed a new and updated armored suit.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is one of MCU’s most exciting upcoming releases. The show arrives to Disney+ in March 2025 and we can look forward to Daredevil finally being introduced to the MCU to the full extent as well as a plethora of characters from his Netflix show.

In 2021 Finnish filmmaker and documentarian Otso Tiainen, together with their co-writer Kalle Kinnunen, set out to Montségur, France, a commune nestled in the French Pyreneese mountains and a homestead for practitioners of the occult. Initially filming started out as a documentary about filmmaker and occultist Richard Stanley and their life in what they call "The Zone." Documentary “Shadowland” – which has its world premiere at Los Angeles’ Beyond Fest on Oct. 5 – was supposed to be a “happy story” set in the French Pyrenees, a place known for its mysteries.

Embracing magic and witchcraft, spiritual “seekers” from all paths of life settle there, hoping to find the greatest treasure – the Holy Grail – or experience supernatural encounters.

One of those was cult director Richard Stanley, who claimed he saw local deity the White Lady, earning the respect of the close-knit community. As well as being a long-time resident of the area, Stanley also worked as a tour guide there.

Stanley made his name with horror films like “Hardware” and “Dust Devil,” but after he was fired from “The Island of Dr. Moreau,” starring Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer, he took a 20-plus year break from feature filmmaking before returning with 2019’s “Color Out of Space,” starring Nicolas Cage.

Exclusive: Peacock launches its first ever DocFest, an on-platform showcase highlighting a selection from the streamer’s top-tier documentary roster. The documentaries include Joe Berlinger‘s Shadowland, as well as projects exploring the accomplishments of Civil Rights activist Rosa Parks and the scandals of England’s Prince Andrew.

The six-week virtual festival will feature six brand new Peacock Original titles between September 14 and October 19, with new titles dropping every Wednesday. Peacock subscribers can find the documentaries via a dedicated collection on the streaming platform.
