It's a pure David vs Goliath kinda story but the cinematography and the music keeps you engaged. I hardly watch Indian shows because most of them(not all there are some great stuff to watch out there too) feel a bit run down this show kept me engaged and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Even though the episodes are quite crisp sometimes the show feels a bit predictable and the show couldn't keep up with the pilot episode it presented. The show is pretty sophisticated in my honest opinion though some cussing could be found here and there(but come on most of the people are coming from shows like Mirzapur and sacred games) which one could easily bare with. This show is definitely made by artists for artists so keep that in mind before jumping into it. I definitely do recommend this to anyone looking for a jam packed weekend binge, trust me you won't regret it.
Anwar Says: Movies/ Web Series of this genre are made generally to keep young audiences in mind but Music Lovers of elder generation appreciate them too, particularly when the name of Amit Trivedi and his Azadi Records are attached. The story is typical, music companies exploiting their artists, the rebellion son has the idealistic thoughts, forms a team and fights against his father. But the director Devanshu Singh has been able to create the tussle between commercial achievements and the eternal satisfaction of an artist.
Ram Kapur is the character who compel for everything and can go to any extent for his legacy, but as an actor, he has his own limitations. Skand Thakur , Saloni Batra and Salonie Patel and all other supporting actors are perfectly casted , however everyone revolves around music , in particular Rap , Hip-Hop and Indie Music. The flashback of Mauj, played by Prabhdeep completes the missing links.
The lacking is the storyline, as many as 12 writers were involved and too many cooks spoil the food. Cinematography is also not upto the mark and you miss the connectivity, despite being a music lover. Learnt a new slang DISS for insulting. Still watchable as a break from Crime Web Series.

The layered storytelling in Khalbali Records makes it an addictive watch. Raghav's journey to create Khalbali Records, while facing his father's opposition, speaks to the constant struggle between passion and power in the creative industry. The show highlights how familial ties and professional rivalries collide in the most unpredictable ways. Ananya's internal conflict adds further complexity, making her character one of the most relatable. The indie versus corporate music battle is executed with sharp writing, making the show a thrilling, heartfelt experience. Nice and beautiful tv series. Nj.

While the series has many strengths, one area where it feels slightly predictable is the romantic subplots. These storylines, while entertaining, sometimes fall into familiar tropes. The 'will-they-won't-they' dynamic between two main characters feels stretched over several episodes, and some love triangles feel contrived. That said, it's clear that the romance is used to add emotional depth, but it would be interesting to see fresher takes on relationships within such a high-stakes industry setting.

"Khalbali Records" attempts to dive into the world of underground music, but sadly, it's a dismal failure. The film centers around a group of underwhelming individuals who spend their days making uninspired music in a dreary basement. The narrative, if it can be called that, lacks direction and depth, leaving viewers with a sense of frustration as it goes nowhere fast.
Instead of offering a compelling look at the struggles and triumphs of aspiring musicians, the movie showcases a tedious cycle of mediocre performances and lackluster character development. The basement setting, while initially intriguing, quickly becomes stifling and monotonous. The characters are portrayed as clichéd "losers" with no redeeming qualities, making it hard to invest in their journey or care about their musical aspirations.
Ultimately, "Khalbali Records" is a disappointing watch. It fails to deliver anything meaningful or engaging, leaving audiences with a sense of emptiness as the film sputters to a halt without any real resolution or insight.
