In the age of revival television, it is still genuinely hard to believe that Starz is bringing the cult comedy favorite "Party Down" back for a long (long!) awaited third season, but it is indeed happening. As evidence of that, we have a brand new trailer for the new batch of episodes, which will be arriving via the premium cable channel next month. And yes, most of the original cast is back! Sadly, Lizzy Caplan isn't here as Casey Klein for another round of "will they, won't they" with Adam Scott's Henry Pollard. Be that as it may, it very much looks like the show folks like myself fell in love with. And in the third season...
Ten years later, most of the Party Down catering team have moved on, including actor/bartender Henry Pollard (Adam Scott). After a surprise reunion, the gang find themselves once again stoically enduring the...

We’re mere weeks away from the long overdue return of Starz’s cult hit series “Party Down,” and as the first trailer will prove, we’re delighted to report the gang are all still living that cautionary don’t-move-to-la life, even into their 40s and 50s. I mean, we’re delighted for you, the fans. We feel kind of bad for the characters.
You can see for yourself at the top of the page. It’s been 10 years and ostensibly they’ve all moved on. But after a surprise reunion, the gang find themselves once again stoically enduring the procession of random parties and oddball guests all over Los Angeles.
But time has not exactly been kind. It’s not just that actor/bartender Henry Pollard (Adam Scott) is grappling with the reality that he’s well into his 40s and still doing that for a living. It’s...

Several new faces have been added to the Season 3 cast of Starz’s “Party Down.”
“Alias” alum Jennifer Garner, Tyrel Jackson Williams and Zoë Chao are joining the show, which is returning for its third season more than a decade after Season 2, in series regular roles.
Additionally, Starz announced on Monday that “Westworld’s” James Marsden will be a recurring guest star.
Garner will play Evie, “a successful producer of studio franchise movies, who, in the wake of a breakup, is reconsidering her life choices. A fledgling relationship with Henry Pollard (Adam Scott) becomes a way for her to explore possible new directions,” per Starz.
Williams will play Sackson, “a handsome, confident, driven, wannabe influencer/internet personality. He’s knowledgeable and savvy about his specific internet niche, but a bit lost in every other aspect of life,” the network said in a release.

A female-led reboot of the classic sitcom “The Honeymooners,” produced by Damon Wayans Jr., is in the works at CBS.
Written by “Black-ish” and “Mixed-ish” alum Lindsey Shockley, “The Honeymooners” is described as a bold, female-fronted reimagining of the iconic working-class comedy centered around new wife, Ruth, and her husband, Alex, who are determined to have a marriage where they are true equals in every way. But what happens when a marriage has two heads of household? Are they co-heads? Or no head at all?
The multi-cam project — currently in the development stage — hails from CBS Studios, and Wayans Jr. and Kameron Tarlow’s Two Shakes Entertainment, which has a pact with CBS Studios.
The reboot does not yet have cast members attached to it.
The original “The Honeymooners” ran from 1955 to 1956 on CBS. The sitcom was created by and starred Jackie Gleason, and was based on a recurring comedy...

Are we having fun yet? Because a limited series revival of the cult comedy series “Party Down” is being developed at Starz, more than 10 years since its second season wrapped on the network in June 2010.
Starz announced that the six-part limited series is being executive produced and developed by “Party Down” alumni Rob Thomas, along with John Enbom, Paul Rudd, and Dan Etheridge. Enbom also serves as showrunner.
Cast members have not been confirmed for the revival, though with plenty of fan support for the series, and a cast reunion hosted by Vulture back in 2019 which teased a possible third season, it’s likely some familiar faces will be back. The original series, which launched in 2009, starred Adam Scott, Ken Marino, Ryan Hansen, Martin Starr, and Lizzy Caplan as failed actors, dreamers, and underachievers moonlighting as mostly miserable cater waiters to the rich in Los Angeles, with Jane Lynch starring in the first season,...

"Whatever that was, it wudn't baseball!" Gravitas Ventures has released the first official trailer for an indie comedy titled Benched, formerly known as Rounding Third while in production. This awkward, amusing comedy is about two little league baseball coach dads assigned to the same team who have to figure out how to work together, and train their team to win. This is one of those uplifting, feel-good, cheerful indie films about how enemies can become friends if you just learn to work together. John C. McGinley and Garret Dillahunt star, along with Jlynn Johnson, Graham Schneider, Keith Jamal Evans, Brogan Hall, Carter Wallace, Brennon Olsen, Brayden Chunn, Drake Light, and Caleb Coffey. This looks about as cheesy and as charming as you're expecting, but maybe this is just what a few of us really need right now. Melissa McCarthy is about to make a try for the holiday musical canon; per The Hollywood Reporter, McCarthy has signed on to produce and star in Margie Claus, a new musical comedy that she’s working on with her husband and frequent production partner, Ben Falcone.
Starring McCarthy as Santa Claus’ wife, Margie, the film hopes to give the actress an Elf-style Christmas vehicle of her very own. Falcone—who also helmed Tammy and The Boss—will direct, from a script he’s co-writing with Benched creator Damon Jones.
Meanwhile, it’s unclear where Margie Claus—in which McCarthy’s character is forced to venture out of the workshop when her husband disappears on Christmas Eve—will fall in the wider “People With The Last Name Claus” Cinematic Universe, or if the producers have approached Fred Claus star Vince Vaughn about reprising his classic role.

We have a lot of casting news and even something a bit smelly to talk about. Really!
Jay Harrington joins Code Black Season 2 in a key recurring role as the most respected neurosurgeon in Los Angeles, Dr. Leo Fields.
Word is, Fields will be forced to operate on one of the major characters.
Forced sure is a strong word. Will it be Mike, or will someone else on staff suffer from a head injury?
Harrington is known for his comedy on the brilliant but canceled too soon Better Off Ted and more recently Benched and Hot in Cleveland.
He joins other Season 2 newbies including Rob Lowe, Noah Gray-Cabey, Emily Tyra and Kathleen Rose Perkins.
Amazon has scored the rights to the upcoming Robert De Niro/Julianne Moore series.
According to Deadline, the series, a drama, possibly about the mafia, is written by David O. Russell, and has received a two-season order of eight episodes each.

TV Line reports Happy Endings alum Eliza Coupe, most recently of The Mindy Project and Casual, is headed to Quantico for a story arc in 2016 ... before immediately going back to sitcoms. Right? She's gotta. Just because we didn't give Happy Endings or Benched the love they deserved doesn't mean we have to lose one of our best comedic actresses to network dramas. Oh, lord, the character summary describes her as "a hardcore career agent with countless notches in her belt." That is the most jokeless-sounding role there is! Okay, calm down. She'll probably get to deliver some witty bon mots at least. Maybe some jokes about ... uh, guns maybe? Betrayal? Sh ... shooting?...

Eliza Coupe is no longer starring in Benched, the series was dropped. USA Network chose not to renew the freshman show. The series was a random one with a touch of humor mixed in with law. Now we see that the show will not be given a proper ending nor a second season, despite that they aired the season finale back in December. Poor Eliza has not released a statement regarding the sad news, nor has USA.
We feel bad for the cast, but it is part of the game. Once again this show was one that never received much support from the network. It is perhaps due to the network not being a fan or even simply overlooked by the fans. We can hope that perhaps it can be saved or even released for DVD. But based upon the lack of their vocal fans speaking up to fuss over this cancellation.

USA Network’s comedy series Benched will not be coming back for a second season. The courtroom comedy starring Eliza Coupe and Jay Harrington had a quiet run, which concluded December 30, averaging 800,000 viewers and 300,000 adults 18-49 in Live+Same Day.
