Did I spend $30AUD resubscribing to this app just to figure out who said one line for Jen (VerticalDramaLove on Instagram)? Yes yes I did, do I regret my choice? NOT even a little this series is so worth it and it has given me the perfect opportunity to shine a spotlight on this series which has been nominated for quite a few Vertical Drama Love fan voted awards (henceforth known as the verties - Sorry Jen)
As Rachel Herman (Ashley Michelle Grant) navigates her re-entrance into the workforce following a divorce from her scumbag husband, Damian Herman (Jeff Violette), and in order to provide for their daughter Ceciia (Elin Bautista) Rachel begins work as a food delivery driver, unknowingly delivering food to one of Hollywoods biggest movie stars, Austin Cooper (Jackson Tiller) - thinking she is a crazy stalker fan, Austin is shocked that she has no idea who he is and when his "PR" girlfriend Amanda Scott (Molly Anderson) Austins quickly (and to the surprise of Rachel) declares that Rachel is his real girlfriend... setting off a series of events that turn Rachel and Ceclilas lives completely upside down.
Ashley & Jackson are so much fun together in this series, they have the perfect level of chemistry combined with great comedic one liners (see below) and both emulate their characters perfectly, from the completely normal delivery girl, come assistant to the Hollywood megastar who just so happens to fall for the normal girl and her daughter at the same time.
Molly, Jeff & Robyn (who plays Damiens latest love interest - Caroline), are all seasoned experts in the villain vertrasphere, each actor bringing something completely unique and fantastic to their individual roles as antagonists, and when they work together somehow still managing to mess up the plan... I think my favourite moments involving these three have to be when Damien is asked by Caroline (Robyn Cantrell) if he is cheating on her and is basically told "once a cheater always a cheater" - also the look on Jeffs face in this scene is priceless - the second is when Amanda is told that Damien has confessed to everything and implicating her... and her shocked expression here..
Also a special shoutout to Adam Santa Cruz, who plays Ben, Austin's best friend and seemingly the only one in this entire ensemble who thinks clearly and rationally - Adam was also a stand out in this series.
