I watch movies, series, and documentaries very often. I like cinema. I cannot say I am a cinephile, and even less an expert, but I can say when something moves me in a way that makes a small part of me slightly different. Cinema can do that-it moves me. I have seen many movies that have changed me. But this is the first time I have felt the need to register on IMDb to write about something I saw. And I had to be the first to write about this documentary. This is the first time-and probably the last-that I write a cinema review. I am not a professional, so I will simply tell a story.
I work in Andorra and Catalonia, and my job requires me to travel frequently to many places. Yesterday, I happened to be in Oslo, wondering how to get visas for Indonesia, when I found out that the Spanish Embassy was promoting International Women's Day with the premiere of an independent documentary called Only for the Brave (No apto para cobardes in Spain).
I think the documentary is terrific-simply great. It is funny, touching, simple, and complex at the same time. It is a web of voices, phrases, faces, and emotions. There are no fireworks, decorations, or tricks to convince the audience. What you see is women-one woman, 50 women, all women. They tell their stories, and it is as simple as that. That's why I am writing this review, just like all those women do in the film-without overthinking, just saying what I feel in this moment.
It is a pity that the movie has no Facebook or Instagram page to support its work. But as always, IMDb knows everything, and the film was here.
This documentary is not an Oscar-winning, highly elaborate film. It might not be a huge hit, and it might not go to festivals, but it is honest. And it moved me-made me cry, made me laugh-but most of all, it touched me. I am looking forward to seeing it again. That's life-to be in Oslo when a Spanish documentary is being premiered.
Congratulations to the team behind the film. It is great.
