Welcome to your weekly rundown of the biggest stories from Netflix’s top 10 hourly figures drop for the week ending February 2nd, 2025. An interesting week in the top 10s with a few returns, a new entry in Netflix’s overall top 10 most watched list, a major documentary flop, and much more!

Note: In this report of Netflix’s hours viewed from January 27th, 2025 to February 2nd, 2025, we’ll use “Complete Viewings Equivalent,” or Cve, expressed in millions. That means we divide the hours viewed announced by Netflix by the runtime of films or series. It allows for better comparisons between films and series, but it’s not an audience metric. It is the minimum number of viewings if they were all complete from the first second to the last of the film or season.

The Hooligans, or Kibic, is a brand-new Netflix Poland show about men and their love for toxic fandoms and masculinity. There are people who take the extreme route, especially young men and women, just to make some quick cash. Bring these subjects together, and you have this show. The Hooligans has many people who are morally dubious while many others featured could perfectly fit in the gray areas. They directly and indirectly influence the lead and thus form the central plot of the show.

Cuba

Grzegorz Palkowski portrays the role of Kuba, a young seventeen-year-old boy who is fascinated by his father’s ex-friend, Zyga, who runs a gang named the Wolves. Just like his father, Michal, Kuba is a big fan of the Gladius football club, but he chooses to go down the path of extreme fandom, ganging up with the Wolves and becoming violent over a period of one game.

2023 was a tiring year for discourse around the topic of toxic masculinity because Jawan, Gadar 2, Salaar, Jailer, Leo, and Animal released almost back-to-back. Seventeen-year-old Kuba followed in the footsteps of his father, Michal, and had the flag of his favorite team, Rks Gladius, tattooed on his chest. Michal, who was also called ‘Tomcat’ by his former gang members, had recently been released from prison. The soccer team was more of a front for hiding the drug business run by the Wolves. Michal used to be a member of the gang, but after his release, he chose to maintain a distance. He loved soccer nonetheless, and he took pride in passing on the love to his son. Unaware of all these complications, Kuba took a liking to Zyga, because he was one of the central figures of his favorite football club, Gladius, and even started delivering drugs for him to the rival club, Kosynierzy. Yes, Gladius and Kosynierzy were enemies on the surface, but when it came to drugs, they were business partners.
