Following the footsteps of 1978's Halloween, the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and a dash of Silent Night, Deadly night, this homage to pure slasher horror as we know it comes from the horror laced mind of Chris Kelly, creator of one of the most popular movie podcasts out there, Classic American Movies. This proof of concept knows what it wants and delivers it even in its current form- hapless victims, a heartless villain and an all-American backdrop all call back to the days of when movies delivered real thrills without the baggage. This NEEDS to be made into a full length film, and several sequels after that.
This proof of concept is definitely inspired by the opening of the original Friday the 13th (1980) but the idea of a killing barber is very unique in its own way. I'm definitely intrigued to see more of a story in a feature film!
I enjoyed the acting and the cinematography was very well executed. And for something that was shot with the least amount of resources, I admired the work and dedication that went into this proof of concept.
I hope this turns into a feature film someday so I can watch it to know more about the antagonist. Horror tends to be the profitable genre out of all genres. This has potential.

This movie starts out in a playful joy filled episode, with a young couple hoping for a fun time away from teality. However once the couple gets in the building that used to be Bishop's barbershop, the danger that lurks within starts to manifest itself. The couple is blind from their illicit passion and does not recognize any danger at first. It is a gradual build up of suspense to the poor guy getting slashed by a silent tall man who appears suddenly and I'd silent. Good props and believable dialogue too. At first I thought it would be too scary for me but it was an excellent done film. Hope to see more of it ASAP.

- TriviaThe majority of the set dressing and props used to create the abandoned barbershop were broken items donated from various barbershops in Georgia.
