Have you ever heard of quicksand? It's a funny word to say, but the actual thing can be pretty traumatizing if you like to be around streams or beaches. Quicksand is created when sand behaves as a liquid because water saturates and agitates the loose particles. The viscosity can change depending on stress or vibration. The most important thing to know about quicksand is that you can sink into it. It’s rather tricky to escape from and can be very dangerous. Who would have thought that there would be a horror movie about it?
The horror streaming service Shudder has acquired the rights to Colombian survival thriller Quicksand. This film will stream in the U.S., UK, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia. Matt Pitts wrote this English-language Colombian film while Andrés Beltrán directed it. Pitts has been a producer/co-executive producer for television series such as Revolution and Impulse.

A comic book about a chameleon-like master thief done as a live-action movie, a reinvention of the Spaghetti Western and a manhunt thriller with a Hollywood A-list cast are among buzz titles by Italian directors in various stages expected to soon be hitting the international festival circuit and, more important, entering the global movie market. Besides a shift toward genre moviemaking, they reflect a more international mindset while remaining firmly rooted in the Italian cinema canon.

For years, Vince Gilligan has had a simple message for fans of “Breaking Bad”: Please stop throwing pizzas on Walter White’s roof.
Unfortunately, fans have refused to listen to the show’s creator when playing tourist in Albuquerque, visiting key locations like the suburban house used as an exterior for the White family home. Instead, they’ve chosen to pay tribute to the Season 3 episode “Caballo Sin Nombre,” when a frustrated Walter (Bryan Cranston), attempting to make peace with his estranged family, tosses the large pizza he’s brought for dinner on the roof before storming off.
The “Breaking Bad” diehards are bringing their own pizzas to the house and hurling them up, much to the chagrin of current home owner Joanne Quintana. The Albuquerque resident is currently building a six-foot-high metal fence to keep fans out and keep her home safe. “We don’t want to gate ourselves in,...

Her parents divorced in 1972, and then, in 1976, her father died of an apparent heroin overdose when Watts was just seven years old, according to her mother. Watts also told...

As the BBC’s parental-respite service continues its fine tradition of giving mums something pretty to look at, we ask who can follow Captain America
Chris Evans is going to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story soon. Actual Captain America, from all three thousand Captain America films, will sit down and lull the nation’s toddlers to sleep with a sonorous reading of Even Superheroes Have Bad Days by Shelly Becker and Eda Kaban on 10 May.
Admittedly this is probably more interesting to parents than toddlers. My two-year-old, largely speaking, doesn’t care about the box office grosses of the people reading stories to him. He’s over the moon if they happen to be softly spoken and sincere like Nadiya Hussain from the Great British Bake Off, and actively less over the moon when, say, David Hasselhoff ends up bellowing a broken assembly line of words that sound as if...

The intro to the classic Batman: The Animated Series has been recreated in stop-motion Lego form and it's pretty damn fun. It was created by Kyle Roberts and it's so cool that after all these years, fans are still paying tribute to this animated masterpiece. The video came with the following note from the creators:
There's only one way "Batman: The Animated Series" could get more awesome and that's brick by brick. Stop motion enthusiasts Kyle Roberts and Nathan Poppe are back with their latest reimagined '90s cartoon opening credits. This time they've given it a Lego twist because "The Lego Batman Movie" hits theaters Feb. 10 and nobody's looking forward to it more than these nerds.
"I can safely say my childhood wouldn't have been the same without Batman or Lego. It only felt natural to see them combined in stop motion heaven,” said Poppe.
“I remember coming home...
