I watched this movie about 10 years ago with portuguese subtitles. It was called 'Sofrimento de Amor'- 'Suffering of Love', and I really struggled to find it on the IMDB. The story is a real tearjerker. Prem and Preeti are in love. Her father destroys the relationship by maliciously lying to Prem. Prem goes away thinking it's for the best. Meanwhile Preeti is pregnant and has his child. You meet the boy when he is about 10 years old. He is a cripple and befriends Prem without knowing he is his father. The songs in this movie are fantastic and the ending is brilliant.
I really enjoyed this movie. It had me second guessing right up till the end. It's a combination of The Matrix and Time Cop, but with much better acting and writing. I especially enjoyed the idea of a world with distance limitations. The Truman Show and Dark City used this idea as well, but here, it is taken to the nth degree. I mean, a virtual world inside a vitual world!! Wow! The murder mystery plot was great. This movie also makes you think about how far Man will go with virtual reality. All in all, a great whodunnit sci-fi thriller. 8/10
PS: I wonder if Douglas Hall was named after Douglas Fairbanks. Steve Bierko looks so like him in his thirties look.
