I love this show! George Lopez is truly a comedy genius. His mother is nuts and the other family members are insane. This show is all aound great fun!!. I do wish they showed more back story and developed the other characters like Ernie and Bennie. Plus we need more about Powers Aviation. What products do they make? Maybe some more sub plots are in order. How about a visit to Mexico? How does Powers Aviation affect the National Defense effort? This show is great education for those of us who have lived on the North East Coast all our lives, I hope this program is brought back on the air soon! Go George!
The Cold War was a very scary time to be growing up in America. Thanks to movies and TV shows like this, many feared that WW 3 was imminent and that we would be hit by nuclear bombs. Watch some episodes of "the Twilight Zone" some time. This was not the best WW3 movie of that era -- "On the Beach" would be a better choice for that. Although Nikita Khrushchev never actually said "We will bury you," the news media widely reported this. Well, I am still alive at 72 and not speaking Russian. You have to wonder what Russians were told about events like the Berlin Wall and the Cuban Missile Crisis. At least we are still co-existing with Russia.
This 30 year old show needs competition. This show is too predictable. Debra's home with the kids. Marie barges in unannounced and criticizes Debra. Frank comes in and eats. Frank insults everybody - he calls every male a homosexual in an embarrassing way and every woman is only referred to as a broad. Ray is always trying to get Deb to make love for which she always has an excuse. Portrait of a bad marriage. They sometimes bring in Debra's parents Sometimes they have an element that's almost funny -- like the Lodge. Occasionally Robert adds some humor - he's the only comedian in the show. Not funny at all. NOT wort watching.
