This is how you make an over-the-top zombie movie, just by adding martial-arts, along with a dystopian world heading to an apocalyptic ending, and a fish-like infection that gives it a nice twist. All this taking place in a Bangkok hospital where the virus breaks out, and if you attempt to leave then the military shoot you down in order to keep the virus from spreading into the city. Plenty of gore to make one squirm, with hard-to-swallow tight situations for our heroes that will have you yelling at the screen. If you are going to go big on another repetitive zombie genre story, then this is the way to do it...
Exciting new Mexican crime series developing characters as the action moves at a rapid pace, following a special force unit who track down hard criminals, mostly Americans (them gringos) who jumped over the border to avoid prosecution from their country and hide out in Tijuana. The makers of this series are also not afraid to tackle issues in their own backyard - mainly corruption - as a local billionaire wants to turn Tijuana into a Los Vegas with the help of some wealthy yanks. Hard hitting without the over-the-top telenovela dross (but it does come close in certain parts), and also fascinating to see what is occurring on the other side of that imaginary Wall...
Hypnotised by the strong visual language and creative story structure about young adult siblings living on fragmented memories of a mother who abandon them at an early age, leaving their bipolar father to bring them up. The story picks up with surprising news from their father (another brilliant performance by Mark Ruffalo) that unconsciously triggers the dominos to fall, as each one struggles to deal with their own dilemma, but also attempting to be there for each other. Creator, Cooper Raiff, not only plays Hal, but wrote and directed this powerful series of a fractured family unit dealing with the dismantled past while rebuilding a blurry future...
