Explosive first episode that rattles the senses in one long intense shot, that carries on in the remainder of the three episodes, exploring the ramifications of a teenage killer, and how as a society we have come to this (with a little help from social media). More frightening is the attitude to women, and this from a thirteen-year-old boy, where references are made about that self proclaimed misogynistic influencer.
Director, Philip Barantini, works his magic as he did in Boiling Point (2021), along with writers, Stephen Graham (who also gives a powerhouse performance) and Jack Thorne, who seems to have his finger in every current successful UK Netflix project...

Nyssa Li has created an observant and almost accurate depiction of modern marriage from a woman's point of view. No matter what culture one is from, you'll be able to relate with the ups and downs, and the madness, of attempting to keep that marital bliss tracking along. All this through standard Taiwanese campy melodrama comedy, and sometimes it goes up a notch, almost to an absurdist surreal style with some laugh-out-loud moments that works a treat in this mini-series. And then there are those touching moments where you are not sure if you should be laughing, but instead just get sucked into the romance of it all. The cast is a bonus, and really play it with a farcical conviction, all thanks to Nyssa's witty and enjoyable screenplay...
A thoughtful somber series about the true story of a secret love between Norwegian Crown Prince Harald, and a commoner girl from the suburbs, set in the strict late 1950s and 1960s. Nothing like, The Crown, but writer and director, Vibeke Idsøe, tells the story with restraint and respect, drawing the viewer in slowly by getting to know the main characters and their dilemmas. The perfection of this series is in the casting, where the actors not only suit the physicality of the characters, but give convincing heartfelt performances. The perfect love story about true love up against old traditionalist stupidity...
