Absolutely mindboggling! Would have given it a 10/10 if it wasn't for the fact that there were no subtitles, and the sound was pretty bad in the first two seasons. The sound in the later seasons was okay, still not great though. The whole idea for this series is simply brilliant, trying to show whether or not people coming from different backgrounds (upper, middle, and lower) have different opportunities in life. It's amazing seeing some of the choices people are making in their lives, and how it affects them. Do think that many of the questions were sometimes a bit too leading and could have been kept more neutral. Clearly, stating a question in a positive or negative way immediately affects the mindset of the interviewee. Still have the final two seasons to watch (42 and 49), but clearly rate this series as genius, not unlike "Die Zweite Heimat". Hope this series gets repeated at least once a century, as it tells so much about human development. So yes, definitely a must see.
The movie is not bad at all, although the first hour is very, very slow. It seems to pick up a bit in the second half, but the movie has an ending which is honestly disappointing. Unfortunately, I had to give this movie a rating of 1 out of 10. Why, I can hear some readers think. Well, it's obvious. People in Germany speak German, and people in France speak French. All credibility in the production is lost the moment you hear those on the German frontlines speak English with some dumb German accent. Surely, they could have hired some Germans for the various roles. Also, what's with Emilie? It would have been a great ending with a foal being born, which would then have received her name, otherwise what's the point of stressing it in the first place? So, not a bad movie, but made fully incredible by the dumb accents spoken by the various actors. Still worth watching though.
Absolutely mindboggling beautiful. After watching Avatar 2, which to me seemed like an endless barrage of violence, shooting and blowing things up, Miniscule is the exact opposite. It simply oozes nature, beauty in small things, care and feelings. The link with the first movie is sublime, the script is wonderful as is the selection of music. Another 10/10 for Miniscule and a must watch for anyone who loves the mix of animation with real life footage. It's clear that only the French are able to lift the art of animation to its own, as yet to be superseded, level of greatness. Would have been an honor for any movie-maker to have been part of the production team that brought Miniscule 2 to the screen.
