Hannibal rising, well this film was a a film where i was not sure to watch, firstly because i had heard so much mix reviews, with the majority stating how awful this film was.
So i decided to watch it myself and judge through what i saw. At first you would think that the choice of Gong Li as Hannibal's auntie would be rather strange, but this was not the case as you begun to watch and draw into her character in more depth. I thought the story line to Hannibal was good, and if anything it was rather a revenge movie than anything,I in fact enjoyed this movie more than i would have though, i also think that Gong Li and Hannibal gave great performances with chemistry.
View it before you say no!!!!

I have to say that when i went to watch the American Version of Departed i was rather in two minds, firstly since this film is a remake of a very successful Hong Kong film starring the very talented Andy Lau, and Tony Leung Infernal Affairs.
OK Departed has had huge publicity since it stars many top rated well known actors, so already this is used to deter the public from the original success of the Hong Kong version, if you were to not know that Departed is not original, then you would see this as a fantastic film, but having compared to HK Version, this lacks all you can think , it is taken word from word, act from act, and the worse thing about the US Version is the ending. If you see the HK version you shall see why.
A very poor rip off, covered by well known actors!!and that is all!!!

I Really enjoyed this film, i think that it is better than the reviews it has been given, all the actors gave great performances , and the story line is superb, this film takes you on a journey of life, love and all its ups and downs that people can go through.
I really like how the director has shown the lives of all the characters, and at times he used split screen to do so. I think the film is wonderful how the music is played during the dramatic scenes, with an actual live trio guy band, i think they are famous , but I'm not sure since i am not that educated in Asian films, but i take it they are because they are great!!! the effect is just fantastic, it is a film that has shown much of a creative side that makes you more drawn as you watch.
A must see film
