Deceptively simple, Fallout is "running" an intricate story, that is also massive, a submarine cruiser under all the yachting and surfing.
Season 1 fleshes out the outlines that, although done (very) discreetly, can be spotted, like a dark silhouette "in the sea" via high altitude aerial search done in the right place at the right time. Season also deals with seasons' own story and subplot that both get wrapped up by the finale, ending with the so called cliffhanger, that is actually a window into "the future", shortly said, a satisfying ending displayed and joined with immense potential that will deliver a high yield in season 2, that of course, if the ball isn't going to be dropped unexpectedly.

There are complaints how this show is slow, now, when too slow, and doesn't move, yes, such complaints are legitimate, while this show moves at slow steady pace, it is meant to be like that, (when) well thought out, solidly written, it works..
That is how we get to the title of this review. Cliffhangers can be described as positive, pointing to what comes next after -this-, and where it might go, but work only if -this- regardless of slower or faster pace, or fewer or more happened, gets wrapped up, because when doesn't, still followed by a cliffhanger, such can only be described as negative, "promising" that -this- will continue -then- and potentially resolve, or not..
I don't know why more and more shows take that path, especially those by this particular production and streaming, either way, it is getting tired before even started..
Now, season 2 is not very good, and it is not bad either. It is hard to describe this show as bad, because it is not bad, it's just that this season definitely fails to keep up with the previous one, and falls, in some cases closer, in other farther behind it.
