Full disclosure: I'm a Broken Lizard fan. I try to catch everything they do, even though their movies I find to be either hit or miss. There are some I like to rewatch every so often; some Ive only seen once. All of them are worth a watch.
Tacoma FD, while technically not a Broken Lizard production, it is written and directed by some of the members , and stars the two I find funniest. If you are a Lizard fan, this one wont disappoint. It's definitely the most consistently funny thing they've ever done.
The show takes place in a fire station centered around a group of firefighters. It is very well cast, and the characters will eventually become so familiar that you feel you really know them. The writing is clever and the humor is raunchy. Destined to be watched and rewatched by myself many times, I hope this one plays for many years to come.

This movie inevitably is gonna be compared to Mission Impossible. Does it rise to that movie's brilliance? No, not even close, but that doesn't make it a bad movie.
The movie is well made, filmed in diverse locations, decently acted, and best of all, packed with glorious action from start to finish. The CGI is good, stunts are great, and fights are well choreographed. You can tell Netflix afforded it substantial coin.
That said, it's not perfect. The plot is thin, dialog forced, and ultimately fairly predictable. Some of the characters were not fleshed out well and came across as unbelievable.
In the end, this movie is supposed to be a popcorn flick. A respite from the real world. Don't overthink it: leave your brain at the door and sit back and enjoy the ride. I know I did.

I've been passing up this movie on Netflix for about a week, unsure if it would something I would enjoy. I am a fan of Scandinavian movies, however, so I took a closer look one lazy Sunday and noticed it starred one of my favorite actresses, Noomi Rapace; I knew then it couldn't be missed. Her co-star is Askel Hennie, a Norwegian actor and the star of Headhunters, another great movie that shouldn't be missed. If you like your movies well acted, violent, super bloody, and with a healthy amount of black humor, this movie does not disappoint. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
