It's not about just a bunch of insurrectionists but it's about the human waste of society. And how religious institutions ends up playing a counterproductive role going all in on indoctrination. Critique on mismanaging the economy and underutilization of work force by administrations was done well. The reviving of the original characters seemed as a challenge accomplished. Great acting by the cast especially the seemingly effortless performance by Jude Law. Excellent writing to produce this unpredictable thrilling story. Mesmerizing visuals of nature and strong special effects. Great audio effects. The Order is worth a watch for a change and knowledge.
Companion is not another technophobic killer bot story. The traditional retreat to cut off rest of the world let's it focus on main characters and turning up the scary elements by a notch. Until the voice commands the protagonist is unknown. Which gives viewers a chance to asses how indistinguishably programmed humans have become. With this theme that's relatively new companion vividly portrays how manipulative and abusive our relationships has become. And the acting was magnificent especially by Sophie. Sharp visual effects, great backgrounds. Excellent camera work. Perfect music. It's a movie that reminds the world to be a bit more human and considerate so this deserves admiration.
There's no logic nor grand myth in this story but only the heartache and mutual secret sadnesses. It's body horror at it's finest to which this movie was deservingly awarded. The Substance viciously attack every consumerist ideal even the normalized agitation of young. An exploration of the tragic modern life which is too slow for the hands of clock and too large to fully live. Performances by Demi and Margaret were brilliant and soulful. Flawless special effects and expressive film-craft. Effective use of audio that amplifies the dread. It's blunt on the symbolism but that crudity would induce enough shock to put the viewer in a sedation of reconsideration on their values of life and the view of society.
