The episode almost left me in tears. The suspense, scariness, and heartfelt emotion impacts the viewer to keep fighting. Inner demons are a language we all understand. Maxine underwent massive character development and advancement in this episode.
While I wish they featured El, this ranks as one of the best episodes of the series thus far. The end result kept me guessing the whole time. The special effects proved gorgeous, immersive, dangerous, and beautiful. You could feel the passion and grief and strength emanating from the characters.
As a viewer, you root for their success. Sometimes we need to confront our pasts before they catch up with us. Other times we need to confide in our friends and face the music.
We should try it sometimes -- it might save our lives.

The second episode does a spectacular job building on the chilling, effective foundation that sliced and diced the first installment. Seeing an improvement over the pilot definitely hints at a brighter and hopefully gorier future. Chucky continues to deliver the goods - I cannot wait to see Tiffany, Nica, Andy, and Christine. Also, I loved the creative kills and the sympathy given to the gay main character. However, I did think the series would have benefited from elaborating more on Chucky's queer kid, not to mention a more incisive commentary on the history of LGBTQ oppression and emancipation alike. Seeing Jake and Glen/Glenda join forces would be KILLER. Above all, I commend Don Mancini for his excellent, pertinent, and most importantly, grotesquely tasteful work. What a tricky treat?
