This film sets a benchmark in Indian cinema. A fantasy film with creativity at its peak. General audiences often draw comparisons with Avatar, One thing to be made clear, IU is not a mainstream fantasy story like most Hollywood films of the similar genre. Selvaraghavan has related the Sufi and Zen concept in plot. His direction, screenplay and dialogs were flawless. Arya's performance was excellent in the first half but was just good as Maruvan. Anushka as both Ramya and Varna was excellent. The songs by Harris were melodious. However, Anirudh's BGM was not up to the mark as few parts of his score had reminiscence of '3'. Selvarghavan has to be lauded for his concept in this story development that has never been seen before. This is not a film, its a fairy tale. Indian audiences should be prepared to accept a change in film genres and watch it with an open mind with wisdom. All those negative reviews are by critics/viewers who lack wisdom and rational thinking. Its obvious that general viewers lack the ability to decipher simple metaphors in few scenes of this film. The only question, when Indian audiences like Hollywood films like Inception though its depth is significantly complex, why cant they accept much simple and straightforward quality Indian films like IU and the rest? Those mindsets have to change for Indian cinema to progress.
World class film maker, Kamal Haasan has once again struck gold after Hey Ram and Virumaandi with his magnum opus, Vishwaroopam. The film has great technical values that can be compared to the Hollywood films with its high production budget. Good story with metaphorical elements concealed that requires intelligence from the audiences. Kamal and Pooja Kumar stand out in aspects of performances compared to the rest. Shekhar Kapoor and Andrea were good for their roles. The Afghanistan sequences were captured with awed perfection. Credits to the ace art director, Lalgudi N. Ilayaraja. Music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy was good in the first half, but tended to be repetitive in the second half. The film definitely deserved a better background score.
Fantastic screenplay that interrelates the past and present through the 'time slice' method that is even rarely utilized in Hollywood. It is evident that Kamal has researched well in portraying Jihadis in a realistic way. Dialogues on the other hand were brilliant and required critical thinking to understand. Surmounting all the barricades in releasing Vishwaroopam, Kamal Hassan truly deserves accolades for producing quality cinema that relates to the global nation.
Vishwaroopam-a technical masterpiece that requires intelligence and maturity from the audiences.

After an average outing with Ajith in Aasal and Aegan,Ajith has made a big comeback with his 50th Golden Jublee,MANKATHA.Performances from all stars were awesome, but the main show stoppers were Ajith and Arjun. The first half of the film seemed like its screenplay was not coordinated well. However, the second half neatly explained the first half without leaving any flaws in the movie. This film plot is one of the best plots derived in Tamil cinema.'Nanbane' song was not needed, but it didn't disrupt the screenplay at all.MANKATHA is seriously Ajith's best.Go for it,enjoy the game and never miss it in the big screens.
