I enjoyed it. The MCU gains a new hero. A better plot and script than Black Panther. I understand some peoples reservations... they're afraid of powerful women.
Brie plays the role of an ex test pilot turned Kree spec ops on the run very well... She does have an emotional range and the graphics are what you've seen in the other MCU films.
This is easily a solid 7 or 8, I put 10 because hahaha. It's an above average Marvel film and a good first step for the Hero who will become leader.

Little attention to detail was made. Numerous errors in clothing, vehicles, weapons and dated items. It reads more like a school drama production than something to follow up from the award winning SG1.
Granted this is an attempt at a reboot but why? Like with Star Wars forgetting the EU this is a major flaw... what? Licensing has run out on the old stuff so let's scrap it? The viewing audience is dumb and wont be able to get the hang of other things having happened before? I'm sick of studio execs undermining my intelligence and that of others. I can sit infront of a well written show and enjoy it and pick things up.
One or two refresher episodes dropping you into the SG1 timeline 5 or 10 years later would be fine. First episode running with the new SG1 as they take a new SG team on their first offworld trip to a human base the other side of the Stargate, the new big bad (Or Goa'uld, heck why not...) Attack and they fend them off. second Ep is a debrief along with a raid on an outpost that's been discovered by the freed Jaffa using one of the 304's and some F-302's... bang, first season is off and running.
Heck, you could even bring back the Asgards or at least a less evolved form via the Asgards supercomputer that had been running a program or whatever... boom... 5 major races all set for another 10 years without worrying the Asgards are OP AF (Or introduce them later on... I dunno)
But instead we get... this. I mean damn, at least my idea enables you to whip up a new DVD/Bluray box set to go on sale for those who want to see the origins. Hell, even give some closure to the disappointedly short lived SGU rather than trying to make a prequal and screwing it up in the first 5 minutes... Oh wait... it's a 10 min 'webisode' we've gone back to 2004 everyone... next up the Stargate podcast...
They had a chance to bring Stargate to the present day... Look at how Star Trek Discovery has pulled back. We could have Starget like that... but we get given this... drivel. Sooner I get working on my Original series (Oh yes, very original) the better and I won't have time to be watching dross like this.
It's weak... very weak...
