kalyan-kancherla's rating
Balayya first half of the movie did not fit the role of Sr. Ntr at all infact I should say horrible. He was too fat and old for young ntr character. But he suited well as ntr after he turned 60. Climax of the movie is the best performance he ever gave. No negatives of ntr were shown but if you cannot relate to his old movies or donno the old stalwarts of Telugu film industry, you might not enjoy as much as I did. For those who relish his old movies, this movie is a feast. The screenplay was slow for this current generation. The film at every opportunity praises ntr which looks artificial.
Go with low expectations and you will enjoy the movie.Inspite of all its flaws, the movie is a good watch and is the best movie to watch during the festival season.

I really liked baahubali the beginning. Though it was not great,it was a good movie. Now the second part came with so much hype that it was a one in a lifetime experience kind of a movie.
Let me start out by saying this movie is so far fetched from what the ratings say about this movie. Everything about the movie is over the top. Direction, acting, overpowering music, over use of vfx. It seemed like the director wanted to show that they threw a lot of money into every scene to make it look good. Good looks do not make a good movie. There are many illogical and unrealistic scenes that come at regular intervals that make the movie look bad. The vfx were so overused and were used at locations that did not even need them.
In short, the first half had silly comedy and the tempo gets better towards the interval. Second half of the movie starts out good with the story but very predictable as it progresses.
Overall Rajamouli might have increased the scale of imagination and money making with baahubali for telugu movies but he has a lot to learn about filmmaking from legendary directors like KV. Reddy, K. Kameshwara Rao,C. Pullayya, Vittalacharya who made great movies of this genre with limited budget and no graphics.

This should be one of the all time best movies of telugu film industry. Everything just fell in place, every actor fitted the role to perfection. The direction and music of this film are brilliant and should be a textbook of how to make a mythological film. Every dialogue and poetry in the film are excellent. The movie is very long but not one scene in the movie feels unnecessary and you want the movie to never end. The film was done so meticulously and the hard work put into the movie is clearly evident. This is a must watch movie for every telugu movie viewer. It was one of the first color movies in telugu and also the longest running movie.
