I have to continue to applaud the recognition of international movies, I have been a huge film and TV fan and inevitably most of the content I've consumed in the past was from US territory. For some years now this great trend of giving visibility to movies from all around the world continues to grow and I am here for it!
As a movie with no dialogue, this was a surprisingly great experience. It's simple but it's done beautifully not only from the animation standpoint but also from the perspective it's told - The animated camera work has a huge impact on the story telling.
At its core it's a story about coming together for survival, we can draw many parallels with our own "human world" ranging from the climate change all the way to the complex relationships we have with each other with all the range of emotions and personalities that exist.
It's easy to watch and there isn't much complexity but again it's a beautiful narrative, with beautiful visuals and great lessons there really isn't much more to it and there's no need to be.
I want to congratulate Latvia on the Oscar, a remarkable achievement and I am looking forward to what comes next.
