I think it helps if you're fan before you go and see this
I've never seen the stage musical but loved the 'no place like home' original Wizzard of Oz
There are some good qualities but not enough to ever want to see it again , but I know we don't all like the same films , for example many people like Tarantino but I don't , I liked the first Harry Potter film but never got in to Lord of the Rings
I do like musicals but this one didn't work for me but it's taken $700m at the box office so what do I know !?
Casting was good & it improved once she sang Popular the only sound I kind of knew , well the version she sang with Mika all those years ago . Bit she played the part extremely well even if I was a bit clueless over the plot . Jeff Goldblum added some Panache & is always super cool on screen like his character in guardians of the galaxy he never seems to age even though now he's in his 70s his wife of ten years was only 30 ish when they got together
It was clear to see that the production costs were high & by splitting it into two movies ( I won't be surprised if there are 2 more ) they've got an almost guaranteed $1bn profit so it's films like this that get buns on seats that allow me to see superb 10/10 films like We live in time
Mediocre but you may love it
Pad. A 4/10.

I hadn't expected to be moved as much I was by this film , but everything worked .
What made it so unique was the believable chemistry between the lead actors ; Garfield and Pugh's chemistry through their ups & downs was totally believable
You were drawn in immediately and with its non linear format you already knew the end before the start, but that didn't spoil the enjoyment.
For a film to get 10/10 it has to make me cry, it has to draw me in emotionally, not since Beaches (1988) have I been moved so much, I swear I cried more in this film than any other film I've ever seen.
Garfield's acting was top notch and you can see him living out every line in his head . Pugh's acting was so believable & the birth scene incredibly realistic
The direction was invigorating and the story of love & tragedy was sympathetically crafted.
It's impossible to find a fault with this film unless you prefer to go & see pointless films without a script with few car chases & fight scene - you won't find that here
The best film of 2025 so far

I had low expectations & they were surpassed
It helps that I'm a lover of his music , his lyrics are the soundtrack to much of my life even though we are ten years apart
I saw his perform twice live and his set at the Milton Keynes bowl in 2001 was exceptional, I hadn't realised how much knebworth meant to him but the venue there made it difficult to see him from afar , I think the darkness were one of the support acts & that propelled them into the charts for their limited career.
You get used to the CGi Chimpanzee playing Robbie & forget about it , my two favourite songs 'me and my monkey' & 'monsoon' were never released as singles but to me lyrically they're his best & the best work came from the collaborations with Guy Chambers
The format was a musical more on the lines of Rocket Man rather than Bohemian Rhapsody but it worked & worked well, all the choreography felt natural
I want to see it again in fact I need to see it again but it's already a 10/10 , she's the one made sure of that & come undone was perfectly crafted
If you're not sure , go with low expectations as I did & you'll be pleasantly surprised
Just saw it for the second time there are correlations with Pink Floyd the wall , the knebworth concert was the one they headlined in 1990 & there are many references to mental illness & relationship issues & absent father
Seeing it for the second time it's brave of Robbie to show himself warts & all . Nicole comes across well as does his childhood friend
