Heart Eyes delivers plenty of cheap laughs, sometimes to the point of feeling more like a Scary Movie spoof than a true slasher. While the comedy can undercut the tension, the film remains entertaining for what it is. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Will I rewatch it? Maybe-mainly for Mason Gooding's performance and the carousel scene, which stood out as highlights. What's missing is the melodramatic depth that gives a slasher its emotional weight, but I knew what I was getting into. If you're looking for a fun, self-aware horror film that leans heavily on humor, Heart Eyes might be for you. And for me too 😂
I just watched Its What's Inside, and wow, I did not see that coming! Honestly, I thought it was going to be just another goofy teen flick, but it turned out to be so much more. The story follows a group of friends at a pre-wedding party, and things take a seriously dark turn when an estranged friend shows up with this mysterious game that brings out all sorts of hidden secrets and grudges.
From the get-go, I was hooked and totally confused in a good way. The vibe was tense, and I felt the anxiety of the characters as they faced all these deep-rooted issues. It was like watching a train wreck-you just can't look away! I found myself relating to the characters, especially their struggles with friendship and jealousy, which felt super real.
The acting was surprisingly good, and it really added to the overall intensity of the movie. Each twist kept me on my toes, and just when I thought I had it figured out, bam-another surprise would hit.

Recently watched Strange Darling, and I have to admit, I was left feeling a bit disappointed. The premise-a one-night stand spiraling into a serial killer's murder spree-sounded thrilling, but unfortunately, I saw the twist coming too early, which really affected my enjoyment.
While I appreciate that many people praised the acting, I personally found it lacking. The performances didn't resonate with me the way I had hoped, and instead of drawing me into the story, they kept me at arm's length. I wanted to connect with the characters, but their portrayals fell flat for my taste.
Additionally, the pacing of the movie felt off. It seemed to drag on longer than necessary, making it hard for me to stay engaged. I found myself checking the time, which is never a good sign in a thriller. The buildup felt drawn out, and by the time the action picked up, I was already losing interest.
Overall, while Strage Darling had the potential for something gripping, the predictable twist and the pacing issues really detracted from my experience. I can see why some might enjoy it, but for me, it just didn't hit the mark.
