BABSBunny24's rating
I am a fan of M. Night Shyamalan movies in general PLUS Josh Hartnett is a favorite actor of mine, so I was really looking forward to this one. Unfortunately, this film had way too many problems to be considered good.
The only reason I gave it a halfway decent rating is because Josh Hartnett's performance was fantastic. He basically carried this film and I would likely have stopped watching it altogether if not for him. I found his character intriguing and believable. I was nervous about him being the bad guy, but he did great and actually had me feeling creeped out during different points of the film.
I feel like many, many other users have stated all the various issues with the movie so I won't go into detail about those, but wanted to at least give Hartnett a shout out because he really deserved better and I hope to see him in some other works soon.

Okay, so i get it, there's probably going to be a lot of parents that do not like the jokes riffing on the attitudes of some parents, HOWEVER, Liza Treyger is so spot on with her observations and had a great delivery so hopefully people can laugh at themselves a little bit and not take it too seriously.
I thought she was very witty. Also, her timing was good and the whole set seemed to flow really well.
Of course, I couldn't personally relate to every single topic she joked about, but I don't think that's necessary to enjoy it still. And I did really love this special. She's now one of my top favorite stand-ups.

Chad Daniels is a comedian I hadn't heard of (I don't exactly keep up with the comedy world so hopefully that isn't offensive to his reputation or anything) and I happened to come across him on Netflix.
I don't have children myself, so parent humor doesn't always land perfectly with me therefore I was a little leery, but the trailer looked good so I gave it a shot.
I'm so glad that I did. I laughed consistently throughout the entire set. He's instantly in my current top 10 comedians. His set is not family-friendly but he's not crude in my opinion for anyone who's wondering. His level of "dark" is perfect for me. Two thumbs up for sure.
