A solid Marvel movie that seems like it's building more than inovationg. There is nothing bad about Brave new world it's a well made enjoyably forgettable addition to the Marvel universe. I enjoyed seeing Red Hulk and Cap kicks baddie ass as usual but even though he is supposedly saving the world it all just felt a little small it would equally well have worked as a Disney mini series and in many ways Falcon and Winter Soldier, was a better all round romp.

It's an entertaining escape but doesn't seem important in the current phase of marvels developement and won't be the rewatchable marvel movie that so many of the older films are.

Nothing to hate but nothing to love either hope that the upcoming Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four movies can get Marvel back on the right path.

I so wanted this film to be good it's a shame it couldn't produce on the promises. It has a good cast, a solid if a little unoriginal premise this unfortunately results in a lackluster Die Hard wantabee that feels like it didn't know what it wanted to be it's slow start is excusable as the main characters are introduced in a slightly clunky manner.

As the story unravels the disjointed plot seems to not fully understand what it wants to be and spends time building in one direction to pivot and swing from a survival against all odds to an army of one. This results in both being slightly disappointing a weak narrative and a one dimensional story that lacks developement and has unlikable protagonists. Above all the romp that should make up for any plot holes or weak characterisation with an exciting non stop action adventure is just not there.

This average attempt just shows again that as good a film makers the British are we just can't seem to do the blockbuster action movie that's the staple of American cinema and when we attempt to do so something about it just feels sad and a little silly this wasn't always the case but modern British action movies don't stand up well to the American attempts.

It's hard not to have seen the bad reviews that seem to be on all the news streams about this film being a disappointment or just bad. If you love movies and read the gossip about upcoming films it is almost impossible to avoid the hate but it's just not right this isn't high theatre and it's not a perfect movie but it is by no means a bad film, there is some truly good aspects to what is a emotional romp through retro science fiction.

Don't sit down and expect an epic movie that will change the world but not all movies need to be this, some just need to take you on a journey and let your brain and emotions have a refreshing experience this is what electric state is it's a vacation for the soul that is enjoyable, simple and freeing in a time when every other film seems to be a noble and worthy movie about people or times that, as important as they are to tell, are not the most escapist of experiences.

So give Electric State a go it won't make you a better person from watching it but it will give you a sci-fi romp that passes a couple of hours and won't leave you thinking the world and people in it are doomed!
