This was a refreshing new show that was well written and well acted so naturally it didn't last long. It's a shame it never caught on the way it should have. I didn't think Ray Romano could handle a role that wasn't straight comedy but I was pleasantly surprised. It was also good to see Scott Bakula back on the little screen again. And Andre Braugher was great as usual. It's too bad that television that doesn't fall into a specific pigeon hole doesn't stand a chance. Anything that's new and inventive and pushes the boundaries of televisions spoon fed masses doesn't last very long. Such a shame.
There is much to examine in this piece but to be blunt, it's not factual. First of all the idea that George Hickey shot Kennedy with and "AR 15 assault rifle" is ridiculous. First of all "assault rifle" is a term that wasn't used in 1963 in fact it's only come into the lexicon in the last 10-15 years. Secondly the AR 15 wasn't even accepted as a weapon by the military until 1963. The military does the field trials on weapons before the federal government adopts them for use. Secondly the author of the book that this is based on assumes facts that aren't in evidence. The program is an interesting watch but very loose on facts.
The nicest thing I can say about this film is that I watched it for as long as I could.
