I ADORE this film, made in the UK in November 1976, and released in 1977 under it's original title of "FULL CIRCLE" at the Plaza Cinema London, (aka "The Haunting Of Julia") the title in the USA and on the VHS Print, released on Media Home Entertainment UK,around 1982, in a rather dark.poor quality picture and sound print, the film deserved far better, but this beautiful film faded in to obscurity, under rated, and over looked by so many for 47 years.
It has now (April 2023) had a Brand New Re Release in the UK Australia and USA via limited Edition box sets by the BFI,(UK) & IMPRINT (Aus) & SCREAM FACTORY,(USA) comprising of 2 discs and a booklet, 4K ULTRA HD & BLU-RAY, or a 4K HD and CD Soundtrack in the (IMPRINT Version) .
The Film is Exquisitely shot by Peter Hannan, who's Cinematography is simply Gorgeous, the mist and sunlight through the trees in the park, and so many other scenes are technically superb, the Music by Colin Towns is such a beautiful haunting melody, it stands out as one of the finest. Horror movie Film scores ever, (highly praised at the time of release, and rightly so) and Director Richard Loncraine did a fine job of crafting the film given it was only his second film, and he was such a young Director.
The Cast put in a fine performance, and includes Peter Sallis, and Nigel Havers, Samantha Gates From the Barbara Speake Stage School plays (Olivia), and more pupils from the school are seen in the Park Playground scenes, (many went on to appear in Grange Hill (BBC TV), and many more Films and TV Productions.
Like Actor Keith Macey (who is in the photo Mia Farrow places on the park bench) and seen behind Mia when she is in the sandpit, on the round a bout behind her,and running to the slide in the High Crane Shot, (Interestingly he also appears in Monty Pythons The Meaning Of Life 1983, a film with Cinematography also by Peter Hannan.
So why do I ADORE FULL CIRCLE, well the music and visual style of the film is simply stunningly beautiful, the story is a well paced "slow reveal" not relying on gore and jump scares, and it has something very special about it, Music plays a massive part to any Films success (the iconic soundtrack of The Long Good Friday) often said to be the best British gangster film ever made owes much of it's praise to it's Soundtrack, I am a big Horror fan, and have seen far more gory, far more jump scare type films, but I still hold FULL CIRCLE as one of my very favorite classic Horror Ghost stories ever, and a 1970's Film I will LOVE till the end of time
If your looking for a horror that is creepy, without gallons of blood, and has a story, if you enjoy beautifully shot scenes, beautiful Music, and fine Acting, from a top Cast, made by a talented Crew, then I hope you will love "FULL CIRCLE" as much as I do, and have done the past 47 years.
SO Excited to have the 4K & BLU-RAY Brand new releases showing the film in it's best ever picture and sound quality, from the restored Film Negative, thanks to the 7 years effort of Film Historian and a massive fan of this Film Himself "Simon Fitzjohn", it is thanks to him this beautiful film is once again available to see after 47 years, and I for one will be forever grateful to him.

As a Life long Python Fan, and minor Featured cast member in one of their films, I loved this superbly Written, Acted and Directed film, which I have only just seen for the first time, as of 30/6/2022, made in 1978 London, the Graham Chapman humour shines throughout, and so no true python fan, or lover of 1970's UK comedy films should be disappointed ,an excellent job by Cast and Crew in making a comedy as only Chapman could, especially the ending, typical Graham Chapman style, , so glad I found this, I rate it 10 out of 10, both for it's over all enjoyment factor, and out of Loyalty to a much loved Monty Python Member ,the amazing Graham Chapman, fine acting and a comic legend, who sadly died age 48,on 4th October 1989.
I enjoyed this Film, a lot, it starts off as a Horror, has elements of a Thriller, and has dark Comedy moments, not something I expected, but very much enjoyed, very well DIRECTED by Ray Burdis, (who clearly has a knack for Horror scenes) as the opening of the film works very well and the night time sequence in the rain stand out as well set up, I don't want to give the plot away, so my review covers more the technical side, acting in my view was good, the shots well crafted, good cinematography, and the MUSIC SCORE by JOHN BECKETT was great, I LOVED the song "ANGEL'S PRAYER" sung by Brooke Burdis, A good British film, that deserves much praise for handling a story of mental abuse and the way the victim deals with it, On my favourite top 10 British made films list, along with DARK CORNERS starring Thora Birch, which is another underrated Horror, Personally I can't wait for RAY to Direct another Horror, with hopefully JOHN BECKETT doing the music score, they are VERY TALENTED as this film shows. 9 out of 10 due to a couple of "minor" technical flaws, (I noticed), but I highly recommend it,
