This movie is shocking in a way, because it is so unusual, I wouldn't spoil it, and actually, can't describe it, as words fail to explain how and why it is so dam funny. Stupid, weird, staged, wild, I guess but you HAVE to be the type of person who actually LIKES to laugh, and doesn't sit there and fold up their arms and demand: "make me laugh" if you want sophistication, then Blazing Saddles, and Brothers Soloman (aka "Family") would not be for you. If you are the type who likes to have FUN, then clear your mind, and all expectations, and go see this film, the production is top notch, and the audio is awesome, (or if your not that type, try "the Sorrow and the Pity" instead.
The "Heaver" Joaquin plays this marvelously. Eva and Mark, and Robert round out this "heavyweight" movie about Bronx cops dealing with the Job. More then a cop movie, it deals with critical life decisions regarding loyalty, respect, courage, and commitment. You will enjoy this film, regardless of what kind of movies you normally like. The sound is awesome, full and fat, with some "old" rock and great underscore. Cinemagraphically, the film has a hard "edge", cold and rough, very well done. The movie is 6 reels, not too long, and goes places you don't expect it to go. Well, I expect everyone to go see this film, and would hope they see it on a real screen with real 5.1 sound.
First of all, Poor Mitt Romney!!! He will not be happy with this title. Fact is, the movie shows how MAN forces his will on MAN by using the word of GOD. ANYONE who "errors" another person by ANY means is wrong, but when they use God to justify it, they do the reverse of Godliness. It is suppose to be so easy: "thou shall not kill, thou shall not judge" "Do unto others...." Yet somehow people still kill, torture, and damage "in the name of God" (See Sept 11 2001) However you feel about religion, this film will make you think about God and how people use his name. Interesting exchange between the Mormans and the Indians on spirituality and the meaning off it.
