What a tearjerker. This was an extremely intense, very emotional, and kind of heartbreaking mid-season finale that wrapped up some very important storylines ... but also left us with a lot of cliffhangers for the second half of the season.

This was a great episode that tied up several loose ends after last week's emotional cliffhangers. One of the best things about Walker is that it often puts the characters together in unexpected but very interesting and entertaining constellations, and this is what happened here as well: Trey with the Walker parents, Liam with Micki, Cordell with Larry and his date ... and since all the actors have excellent chemistry with each other, this was so much fun to watch and also emotionally charged in really satisfying ways.

I read the books decades ago and found them very dry, so my expectations weren't exceptional, but this was a good movie, with solid pacing and beautiful imagery. If nothing else, the entire main cast is stunning to look at and also knows how to act, and they definitely outdid themselves with set design, costumes, and VFX. The exposition is a little slow, but by the middle of the film I was entirely captivated.
