Off the top of my head, I have to say that this is most likely the worst Robert DeNiro movie I have ever seen. Not just about being bad but even the entertainment value is not here.
There was a message in this movie that was delivered as long and boring as possible. Would have been better off just watching a documentary about The Alto Knights than watching this narrative It was supposed to be funny and that might be where this went wrong.
We all love Robert DeNiro but the makeup made him look like a Dick Tracy villain.
It's the biggest cliche of a Gangster flick I've ever seen and none of it flies.

I appreciate what is being done here. We are at a point where Black cinema is trying to diversify genuinely, and this movie is a fine example of what we've always been trying to do. It would have been great if they could have had a larger budget, but they did spectacularly with what they had. I saw the genius, a true rose growing from the concrete. I see the mountaintop. Too much? Hey man! After Blade's success, someone should have said, "We'll give you a little more money to try to be more like Blade." Instead, Hollywood still did not think that the numbers were good enough. We're close, and I want to thank those who brought us one step further to the top of the mountain.
I enjoyed it tremendously. It has a very good cast of characters, kinda feeding off what you would expect of them but going forward at a new speed that was great to watch.
This film was a reminder of Bill Murray's entertainment value. He was amusing in his role as a bad guy, not to the level of Albert Brooks in Drive, but it still shows Murray does have range.
Also, give credit to Pete Davidson, who was the shining forward of starting the movie in the character he always plays but giving us something extra.
Also good seeing Ed Harris do a film. Just a great character actor always worth watching. A great catch! Very funny!
