The characters are all very like-able. The story continues to grow, each new character adds a new element and layer to the overall storyline. The humor is sweet and the romantic element develops with the story until everything falls into place. Definitely needs another season.
I have rewatched this series a few times, and it is probably in my top ten of Chinese historical fiction.
The costumes are great, and the locations are really great too, the musical score lens to the drama.
Despite the occasional obviously over dramatic scenes, Sword Snow Stride hits the mark as a very watchable series, with a genuine need for more of the same.

As an Aussie, I have found a solid appreciation for Asian historical drama, of course I've seen many of Jackie Chan's Hollywood films, and having watched several TV series and movies on Chinese Dynasties.
I appreciated the connection between this movies characters and real history. No that they are all (some are) actually real historical figures, but the honest intensity of kill or be killed, I'm sure was as real as the never ending wars and conflicts in people's every day lives even now.
I enjoyed the main characters, and found the story to have an evolving narrative, that as I watched I gained more appreciation to see it to the end. More like this would be good.

I found Full River Red really good to watch, it took a little while to start, but once the rhythm picked up, it was very interesting to watch.
A murder mystery that isn't the real story, why and how are never completely clear, each answer just leads to more questions.
The steam punk sound track gave it a nice edge that I liked, blending well with the pace of the story and cinematography.
The main characters developed into worthwhile villains and heroes, with multiple twists to be followed to keep up.
It would help to understand the characters and story line if you have some cultural and historical knowledge.
