I am a huge fan of the original series. In fact, I've watched all episodes at least 3 times - good ones more like 10 times, and really good ones; 20.
The new show is getting better. Sure, the writing is not as good, and the acting (especially the younger characters) leaves a lot to be desired, but the latest season 2 is actually decent.
There are a few times when the writing impressed me, with funny and unexpected plot twists. There are a couple of "laugh-out-loud" moments in each episode. They are still building the characters and I think it will only get better.
Will it be as good as the original? Doubtful. But it is a good show compared to everything else that's out there.
I give it 7.5 stars.
