Jaw dropping, stunning, fantastic, must win awards a plenty, original, innovative,...
It's easy to run out of superlatives for this short series. Great script, production, filming and above all performances that are at masterclass plus level. The young boy, Owen Cooper, gives a performance well beyond his years in episode three - don't blink during this episode.
Stephen Graham is always worth watching and for this is a definite MUST watch.
The story slowly unfolds from different perspectives in each episode and not all is what it may seem, or is it?
This is story telling at its very best.
Do watch it.

Let's not get fancy about this. The film is a veritable mine of absolute tosh of the absolutely, possibly, highest order ever. Tosh is redefined. When watching don't think it can't get even more absurd than this. It does. Dressed in diamante. Time and time again. If you thought a Transformers film was noisy...! Multiple cities, landmarks and mythical lands get destroyed, as usual.
What's the plot? That will leave you well behind floundering in the shallows, shallow is a good word, so don't even try as you suddenly think you know what the hell is going on only for that to be thrown away in short order.
It is a huge surprise that the actors can say some line without looking sheepish and apologetic afterwards.
So why have I given it a 9. Well, it is of the utmost and superlative entertainment, a CGI fest of noisy absurdity. Do, do, do watch it. You won't be disappointed, especially if your sense of reality and disbelief have been posted to a remote Pacific Island.

There are rather a lot of reviews by the usual dimwits who don't bother to pay attention, nor after two episodes (did they get that far?) have managed to use even a modicum of intelligence to see how this story is being told.
For adults with an attention span I shan't spoil the unfolding of the narrative by having to explain one of the simplest mechanisms known to cinema. Needless to state that there are no plot holes. Everything is explained. Critical plot points are explained in just a line so pay attention, please.
Looking at the cast provides expectations which are easily resolved by excellent performances all round. And that cat! Shot stealer! Kevin Kline produces and excellent English accent.
Please do watch this as it is a nicely crafted story that slowly unfolds with narration, that I feel rather cheekily at times, fills in background the visuals can't depict.
