This is both an easy and hard review all in one.
Easy because it is all simply perfect in every way.
Hard, how do you criticize perfection?
A grand Day Out was a fun old romp but the Wrong Trousers is right in every way.
This second outing by our plasticine pair of cheese addicts has solved the one single issue that A Grand Day Out suffered from.
It has a proper story beyond running out of cheese one day and being too lazy to walk down to the shop for some more.
This has so much stuffed in its 29 minutes, bills due to be paid but no money, a frustrating lodger (a chicken apparently), heartbreak, action, suspense and a criminal mastermind like no other.
The acting and emotional range of the animated cast not to mention the excellent voice acting of Peter Sallis is pitch perfect despite his fellow actors do not themselves speak .
This is perfectly orded chaos of the highest order including stolen jewels, model trains and of course, trousers.
This is without doubt the best animated short of any kind I have ever seen, I doubt they will ever top it but I am always hopeful they will.
So don't let the trousers put you off even if they are wrong and don't mind the weird looking chicken, I'm sure he's harmless.

Well its yet another this is entertaining so we must cancel it moment.
Invader Zim is one of those shows that work for both kids and adults (parents) so pull up a pile of pizza slices, slather it with maple syrup and sit down on that wonderful molten cheese and enjoy.
As usual I'll start with the good and to be fair its what a lot of negative reviewers are not getting. Characters are interesting for their faults and not their strengths and boy do the characters here hit the ground running.
The many characters wants and drives are warped resulting in some gloriously warped stories. Junk Food addiction(Gir), game addiction (Gaz), conspiracy theories (Dib) all leading to a strange green skinned student called Zim.
There are of course many more plots than this, rival aliens, lice, mystery meat and (gasp) a room with a moose and oh yeah filthy smelly humans (yuck).
This show is pure adrenaline powered chaos but is it just chaotic coincidence?
Or is it a bit of a broad critique of smelly human ignorance, paranoia, gluttony & laziness?
Probably my fellow smelly humans!
So don't look down the neighbors toilet or too closly at his parents or his pet dog (he's special) everything is, normal!
Sadly the mission...I mean series was cut short but there is 2nd phase...I mean a movie follow up Enter The Florpus.
So my fellow smelly humans OBEY THE FIST!

Holy cow I didn't know this show even existed and I wish I did much earlier.
A strange blend of Upstairs Down Stairs and just a touch of laugh out loud comedy.
I am a fan of both Dad's Army & It Aint Half Hot Mum and the creators Perry & Croft go to town on the class culture of Britain's roaring twenty's.
Some of the regular cast & extras come from many of their prior shows being given not just fun eccentric characters but often they are important to the plot.
The story's I think are the best part as even if one episode closes it also invariably sets the stage (coming disaster) for the next. Arranged marriages, illicit love affairs, addled seniors, randy relatives and a parrot (upstairs).
Another good point about the story's is that they are unlike the previous comedy series around 50 minutes in length which allows a real plot to develop rather than a short half hour one plot joke.
Eventually having to deal with these self made personal & social calamity's are the house staff (down stairs) although the Butler has his own self serving hand in the same cookie jar.
The cast is perfect and while it is hard to choose one actor from another I found the big surprise was Jeffrey Holland who normally plays the thick lovable guy, here he is unrecognisable due to his pitch perfect performance as the stern footman Twelvetrees.
All of the other cast members are perfectly cast and are excellent in their parts but they play the same characters as they did in other shows.
This is one of the best surprises I can ask for and I can only say the one issue I have with this series is that there are only 26 episodes.
