I woke up hoping to find something Christmas-y to watch and enjoy before going to work as an elementary school teacher. I was drawn in by the classic mid century puppet look.
I'm less than a minute I was taken aback by the foul language. I rode it out a whole longer thinking the profanity wouldn't run the show; boy was I wrong.
And then along came the adult scenarios and suggestive innuendos that I, again, did not expect.
Maybe I missed the beginning of the show that warned about its content but now all I can assume are the hundreds of thousands of households that don't monitor what their children watch. There's no doubt this show will draw in kids the same way I was drawn in visually. No wonder schools and very young kids are disrespectful and treat one another horribly, stealing school property, slapping and hitting teachers and admin, bringing weapons, and talking about adult situations at the age of 7.
I hope this show is forgotten at this time next year and not considered a cult classic in a bleak and uncaring future.

I thought this movie to be highly enjoyable. It had all the right ingredients (pun intended) of a classic "feel good" movie. In a generation full of hectic rush and non stop "mean-ness," this movie was a little ounce of what we need more in the world; optimism. "Live life to the fullest." Unfortunately that theme isn't common nowadays. There doesn't seem to be one part of this movie that isn't enjoyable. There's just the right amount of humor that allows Queen Latifa to shine as a comedian as well as heart in her performance which makes you care for and relate to this character. I hope this movie receives a lot of credit and praise despite the timing of its release. I applaud the actors and the especially the writers for making such a happy movie.
