This is one of the greatest things I've witnessed TO THIS DAY.
I remember watching it when I was very young and seeing in the opening credits that it had won an Oscar and my first thought was "how did it know it had won the Oscar when they made it?". Still baffles me, like, did they just make a re-edit a year later to include that animation for the Oscar? Interesting.
Anyway, at the time of my first viewing I had such anticipation because that Oscar, despite me not really understanding its significance, looked so shiny and special and golden, and in my mind it just meant that this must be like seriously in a league of its own for Tom and Jerry.
Well my expectations were met. I was perplexed. It's in a league with the bowling episode I'd say. I've now seen it quite a few times and it's basically just very funny, very imaginative, tense, fun to watch, and really gripping.
