Biography

Perspective

Sangiovanni was born in Vicenza and grew up in Grumolo delle Abbadesse. [4]

In 2020, Sangiovanni took part at the 20th edition of the Italian talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi, where he won the "Singers" section and finished second overall.[1] He debuted with the EP Sangiovanni in May 2021, which peaked at number one of FIMI's album chart.[5][6]

His most successful song, "Malibu", topped the Italian single chart for four weeks and was certified eight times platinum in Italy for sales exceeding 800,000 copies.[7]

He participated at Sanremo Music Festival 2022 with the song "Farfalle".[8] On the fourth night, alongside singer Fiorella Mannoia, he performed a cover of the song "A muso duro" by Pierangelo Bertoli.[9] He finished fifth overall.[10]

He returned as a guest to Sanremo Music Festival 2023 to perform alongside Gianni Morandi, with a cover of Morandi's hit, "Fatti mandare dalla mamma".[11]

He competed in the Sanremo Music Festival 2024 with the song "Finiscimi", finishing in 29th place.[12][13] On the fourth night of the festival, along with the Spanish singer Aitana he performed a medley of his 2022 entry, and the Spanish version of the same song.[14]

In February 2024 he announced that he would take a break from music due to health problems. Following this decision the release of the new album and the related concert event were cancelled.[15]

On 9 April 2025, Sangiovanni released his first single after his break, "Luci allo xeno".[16]
