Taneem Rahman Angshu (born 14 July, 1981) is a Bangladeshi filmmaker specializing in the Bengali film and TV production. His first feature film, Shopner Ghor (2018),[1] received critical acclaim, with Angshu winning Best Director (Bangladesh) during the 18th Telecine Awards in Kolkata, India.[2]

Angshu's second film, No Dorai (2019), was commercially successful, winning six awards at Bangladesh's 33rd National Film Award (2019), including Best Director and Best Film.[3] ‘No Dorai’ also won the FIPRESCI award at the 18th Dhaka International Film Festival.[4] In addition, Angshu won the Best Music Video Award at Channel-I Music Awards in both 2016 and 2017.[5][6]

Angshu made his directorial debut with a short film titled Bhejaal (2007), which was screened at the Dhaka International Film Festival. He later created various television commercials and documentaries for NGOs and agencies in Bangladesh.
In 2012, Angshu released his first feature-length television film, a zombie apocalypse horror film titled Spook for Channel 24. The film's cast included Bidya Sinha Mim, Anisur Rahman Milon, and Azad Abul Kalam. He also directed other TV films such as Ami Trina o Magic (2012), Aalo (2014), Hothat Tomar Jonno (2014), Life and Fiona (2014), and Ongsher Shesh Ektai (2014).
Angshu also directed several music videos in Bangladesh during this period, including Bondho Janala and Megho Milan.
His film, Air Bender (2015), was the first television film in Bangladesh to be shot inside an actual commercial aircraft.[citation needed] By the time Angshu created his first major TV series, The Daily Fright Night (2015), he had worked on more than 30 TV Dramas and Telefilms. The series, which aired on Gazi TV, spanned more than 200 episodes.[7]
Angshu's first feature film as a director, Shopner Ghor (2018) starred Zakia Bari Mamo and Anisur Rahman Milon, and earned him the Best Director award at the 18th Telecine Awards in Kolkata, India.[2]
His feature film, No Dorai (2019), was produced by Star Cineplex and starred Sunerah Binte Kamal and Sariful Razz. The story was inspired by a champion female surfer from Cox's Bazar. The film won 6 National Awards in 2020, including Best Film and Best Director. Angshu also received the FIPRESCI Award at the 18th Dhaka International Film Festival. He is the second Bangladeshi director to win this award after filmmaker Tareque Masud. No Dorai was selected for the Asia Pacific Screen Awards 2020 (APSA) in Brisbane, Australia.[8]
In 2025, Taneem Rahman Angshu served as a jury member for the 11th Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival (DIMFF), evaluating films in the Open Door and Vertical Film categories. He praised the filmmakers' dedication and creativity, highlighting the hard work behind each submission.[9]
