Usage notes
- The Unicode Standard states that Ω (U+2126 OHM SIGN) is included in Unicode only for backward compatibility reasons. Ω (U+03A9 GREEK CAPITAL LETTER OMEGA) is preferred to represent ohms.

The most common uppercase form is a variant of omicron (Ο), broken up at the side (
), with the edges subsequently turned outward (

). The alternative uppercase form, found in some typefaces, that looks like a larger version of lowercase ω, is from a digraph of two omicrons written close together.
