EXCLUSIVE: Beta Film boards world sales on Norwegian young adult-orientated dramedy show Rebound
- Set entirely in a bedroom and directed by Rod Knock helmer Daniel Fahre, the series stars Mathilde Storm, Björn Mosten, Arjan Nilsen and Oddgeir Thune
Munich-based international sales agent Beta Film has once again partnered with Norwegian firm Fenomen for its latest young adult-orientated dramedy: a show titled Rebound. Following the success of their previous collaborations, including the multi-award-winning coming-of-age series Rod Knock and the Tromsø-premiered show Saving the Fucking Planet, the German outfit is now handling international distribution for this intimate short-form series.
Set entirely in the bedroom of its main character, the ten-episode production dives deep into themes of heartbreak, dating and self-discovery in your mid-twenties. Directed by Rod Knock helmer Daniel Fahre, the series stars Mathilde Storm (Let the River Flow [+see also:

In detail, Rebound follows the heartbroken Alex (Storm). Back home from a five-week holiday in Bali, she is excited to reunite with her boyfriend Mikkel (Nilsen). With their relationship on a “break”, Alex is hopeful that they’ll pick things up again. Instead, he dumps her – while they are having sex. Her best friend, Sara (Maria Wiik), has only one piece of advice: go out on dates; it’s time for a rebound. But while Alex is interested in a guy she meets at her flat party, Lucas (Mosten), he is not ready for a relationship. And on top of that, Alex still has hopes of getting back together with Mikkel. As she goes on the dating apps, Alex falls into a cycle of hooking up with random strangers while neglecting her own emotional needs. Now, she must figure out her new life and start dealing with the scary feeling of being alone. Maybe it’s not so much about being with someone, but about finding a way to love yourself?
The brand-new Scandi show is staged by Fenomenon for Norwegian streaming platform Null47. Rebound has already proven to be a domestic success, with its first season doubling the platform’s subscriber base.
