My card is declined but my iPad is still shipping to my address. What should I do?

On 27 March 2025, Apple started to accept pre-orders for iPad A16 (iPad 11th Gen) and iPad Air M3 (24 days after officially announced to replaced iPad 10th Gen and iPad Air M2). Yes, I did ordered iPad A16 and my card was charged on the day I purchased my iPad A16 on 27 March 2025 through Apple website. But the funny thing is it doesn't triggered a page where I have to approve my payment through OTP or have to approve via my banking app. But on 4 April 2025, my card suddenly declined my iPad purchase. I quickly checked my shipping status and it's now shipped out on the way to my destination. No cancellation whatsoever.

Do Apple send an email to me or through my iPad notifications about my card declined and pay to them as soon as possible such as changing to another card or other payment method or not? I have sufficient funds to pay it suddenly my card declined 9 days later without any valid reason (eg: invalid card, card fraud, etc).

Apple is very unlikely to have shipped your order unless they have authorised the Credit Card payment. Goods only ship if the charge has been accepted.


Beware of some scams that will try to have you provide Credit Card payment details to "confirm" an order or other charges. These are often fraudulent attempts to obtain your personal and financial information.


If you have purchased directly from Apple, you will have received an email from Apple with purchase confirmation that includes your order number. This email will include contact information for your order should you have any queries or issues.

Based on the screenshot, I actually buy directly from Apple website (official, not fake) getting payment declined 8 days later. All of the information (like my ID/IC card, tax information, address, credit/debit card and several required to fill in) are all correct and double confirm it correctly. Also, once on the last page will tell me to reconfirm back everything before I can choose payment method. Once I enter my card information, I was thinking Apple should triggered a page where I should approve my payment through OTP or via banking app but it was direct me to payment successful page and I confirmed that my card was charged on 27 March. That time it write "processing". 8 days later, my money suddenly refunded and I try check my banking app it says "declined". But when I check my email and also tracking my parcels, my iPad is still on the way shipping to my address (which expected to arrive by this Monday 7 April 2025).

Hopefully Apple should send the email me on overdue payment if payment error, even if my iPad is still shipping.
