iPad touchscreen issue - Should I just replace the screen?

Cracked ipad 8th gen screen and my dad offered to fix it for me with an amazon kit. He didn't glue all the edges, just used dots and now the display isn't working properly, when i touch things it takes extra pressure or multiple taps and some areas that I touch doesn't register through the screen either. Sometimes it starts spazzing out and tapping random things. there's also visible dust on the inside of the screen, i'm wondering if that and other gunk that got into the ungled seams is the issue, if so, i'll just need the glass repair?

Taking it in to a shop for repair as Katana-San mentions will be an obvious next-step. But also figure that the cost of the repair (if the shop will do it) could easily go towards a newer iPad or even a refurbished model.

If you can, get an estimate at a repair shop and see what it will cost and use that as guide as to what your next step would be.
