I'd say you will, yes. Out of 4 years I was never hit on anything (my max order was $115 though generally a little under $100) but my last three were all hit, two being $42 and one being $40.

The coupon isn't as worth it anymore, IMO, when you factor in tax and the CP handling fee but YMMV.

I've heard some say ordering larger item like box sets, etc. or more items in bulk make the fees / tax more worth it.

Going forward, I think that I will only purchase from UV during their sales events and from Amazon.ca when they offer deep discounts.

I think I'm done with wowhd unless things change drastically over time. It was good while it lasted and I had purchased many films especially from the Criterion label at reasonable prices in the past.

I'm pretty much done buying outside of Canada, period, unless I really can't get something I can't do without. Even on Ebay I bought Basic Instinct 4k steelbook which by the end, ended costing $140 CDN LMAO. $30 just in duties and stuff.

Additional fees most like guaranteed. Used the previous coupon and got charged $20 for $100, first time ever getting charged. Located in Ottawa as well.

I gave up on WOW when the dollar sky rocketed and won’t buy American until the tariffs stop. I have purchased from rarewaves with no issue so Europe is still ok.

I was just charged additional fees from Rarewaves for the first time ever last month, but the order was over $100. Received another order shortly afterwards from them that was $50 and never got dinged. There are definitely thresholds.

It depends on the price of what you want to buy.do your research and do the math. Buy it from the cheapest place. You may have to pay duty for it. Factor that in.

There might be thresholds but it’s lower than $50. I was dinged $15 for a $40 item, so you got lucky. I never used to get extra charges for any amount I ordered by WowHD, but now it’s not worth taking a risk.

I disagree. You can still find good deals. Bought something for $105 minus 15%. Everywhere else, that item was $180. You just need to do your research. There's still good deals.

I recently made an order for one Kino release, trying to avoid buying too much & getting dinged. It showed up no problem. So, yesterday I ordered the Hatari! reissue that came out last December, and today I received an email saying my order has been canceled & my credit card won't be charged. It doesn't look to be a stock issue, just purely a precaution they have taken in advance of the strike.

Yes, they did this last time. Cancelled all orders to Canada and removed the country from the shipping area location.

Interesting you got hit for as low as $30. I did start getting hit for, like, $41 orders this year from WOW before they closed shop to Canada. Then they sent me a "you got something in your cart" 10% discount coupon.

But once I placed the order it said it was on backorder and may take a few weeks to ship. Bummer!
