Witness is VMDS indeed. point is that US release suffered DV flickering on panasonic players (but i spotted some, very minor flickering on Oppo system too, namely when they're building the barn), curious to know if they've silently fixed it.

I have the UK version. How can I check whether the DV Issue has been solved?

you must have a panny player first (ub820 or ub9000), then check the barn raising scene: if you can't spot any brightness flickering they fixed it.
