At the University of Bremen Faculty 8 (Social Sciences), Political Science, the group of Prof. Susanne K. Schmidt at InIIS (Institute of Intercultural and International Studies) invites applications for the following academic position: 1 Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/d) Salary Scale TV-L 13, 100%, start date: asap, limited until January 31st, 2029 (according to §2 WissZeitVG). The position is fixed term for four years and with 75% part of the project: “Courts as Governors in the Internal Market? – the interaction between judicial control and competence” that is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) as part of the Research Unit “Reconfiguring Europe between competence and control” (speaker: Prof. Dr. Markus Jachtenfuchs, Hertie School). This research group brings together over 20 leading senior and junior scholars working on European integration across 5 institutions, with the Hertie School as the project coordinator (more on the project can be found at https://www.delorscentre.eu/en/research/reconfiguring-europe). In addition, there are academic services in teaching currently amounting to 1 SWS (including teaching specialist knowledge and practical skills, instruction in the application of scientific methods in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes to the extent of the applicable LVNV, teaching export).

Continuous interaction with other member of the research unit at InIIS, in Berlin, Zurich, and Leipzig. - The position requires some traveling. - Research and teaching one (2 hrs-course p.a.) activities are to be provided in accordance with § 23a BremHG. Requirements: - Completed scientific university degree (Master /Uni-Diploma) in Political Science, or related. - Completed PhD in Political Science, or related. - Expertise in policy analysis, qualitative and/or quantitative methods, European integration; basic knowledge of European law. - English and another European language.
